Lucky Draw

in COMIC BOOKS fan/pro4 years ago

I have been following the progress of the Ithaqa comic here for years. Creator @drwatson has been posting artwork all through the process to tease us. They have a Kickstarter to fund publishing the next issues and there is a raffle where you can get drawn by the artist @la-fumettista. I won and here is the result. There are still more chances to win.

Art

I could choose to be portrayed as an intrepid paranormal investigator or an evil cultist. I opted for the latter and I am very pleased with how it turned out. I intend to get this printed to go on my wall.

Comic

I already have the first issue that I bought through Kickstarter and I plan to get the others too. You can buy at least that first one for crypto on Hive List. I may withdraw some of my Hive earnings so I can get one of the Kickstarter reward bundles and help them reach their target.

I have quite a collection of comics from Hive artists. Some of them even mention me as a backer of their project. A lot of comics are produced using funding from sites like Kickstarter, but there is massive potential to do something through Hive. We can be supporting them on every update they put out with our votes and some will take crypto for the physical product.

My Hive feed is there to entertain me and so I love getting a few comics there each week. Follow those whose work you enjoy and support them. That will encourage them to give us more. Word will spread in the industry to bring in more people. With Hive the fans can earn too. We need to get the word out. I know comic fans can be pretty geeky, so they should have no problem adapting to the blockchain life.

My new signature box includes part of a drawing @katharsisdrill did of me.

Good choice going with the evil cultists haha.

That's such a neat thing. You've been immortalized in cartoon print. I feel like not a lot of people can say that. Very cool.

It's a cool project who have been active on Hive for ages. It's nice to get something back for my support.

Woot! Congratulations! It looks good! I'm holding out hope for one of the last few raffle wins, too.

Very cool. That is an awesome picture of you that they drew. I wonder if anyone has ever thought about making a front end for Hive that does stuff like Kick Starter or donors choose or some other form of crowd funding. It could be intersting.

I think there has been a crowd funding dapp, but I don't know how it worked. Sounds like something that needs smart contracts.

Yes, more than likely it would need something like that. At least something to lock up and protect the funds. Maybe some kind of multi-sig. The Hive Development Fund is a perfect model for something crowd based.

That looks deadly! Paranormal investigator would be cool but evil cultist was a more interesting choice. Sounds like a cool project, there are a lot of really good artists here on Hive. I haven't read too many comics but I do really want to buy the Akira manga.

!PIZZA

We each like different things and I think we have a good variety here. I think Hive could be looking to grow in certain niches and comics could be one of those.
