Lo que pasó, pasó hace mucho tiempo, más o menos hace diez años, por lo que no tengo fotos de ese día y mucho menos del evento que aconteció, sin embargo colocaré imágenes de internet alusivas para que mi anécdota no se haga monotona.
What happened, happened a long time ago, more or less ten years ago, so I don't have pictures of that day and much less of the event that took place, however I will post images from the internet so that my anecdote doesn't become monotonous.
Por ese entonces yo tenía unos 16 años y asistí a un campamento que organizó la banda del colegio a la que pertenecía (ya saben, esas que van a los desfiles de carnavales). El campamento era de dos días, aunque al final terminamos quedandonos solo uno.
At that time I was about 16 years old and I went to a camp organized by the school band I belonged to (you know, the ones that go to carnival parades). The camp was for two days, although in the end we ended up staying only one day.
El motivo del campamento era para que los antiguos miembros nos relacionaramos con los nuevos y que estrecharamos lazos. La verdad, todo estaba siendo muy divertido, armar las tiendas (todos nos ayudamos unos a otros), armar la fogata, conectar los aparatos electricos para la música...
The purpose of the camp was for the old members to interact with the new ones and to strengthen bonds. The truth is, everything was being a lot of fun, setting up the tents (we all helped each other), setting up the campfire, connecting the electrical equipment for the music...
Yo iba a quedarme con dos amigas más en una carpa, así que a eso de las 12:00 am más o menos, los profesores nos mandaron a dormir. Todos nos dirigimos a la zona de carpas, entramos y nos dispusimos a dormir.
I was going to stay with two other friends in a tent, so at about 12:00 am or so, the teachers sent us to sleep. We all headed to the tent area, went inside and got ready to sleep.
Nos despertó a mitad de la madrugada el aullido de varios perros. El campamento tenía lugar en una hacienda con bosque, lago y mucho campo, y los perros que soltaban por las noches para que cuidaran el terreno eran los causantes del alboroto.
We were awakened in the middle of the early morning by the howling of several dogs. The camp was located on a ranch with forest, lake and a lot of fields, and the dogs that were released at night to guard the land were the cause of the commotion.
Nuestra carpa estaba cerrada con el mosquitero, pero no con la capa que llevan encima las tiendas de campaña normalmente en la puerta, así que mi amiga, probablemente asustada o nerviosa, salió de la carpa a intentar desatar los nudos y poder cerrar las capas y no tener vista al campo.
Our tent was closed with the mosquito net, but not with the layer that tents normally have over the door, so my friend, probably scared or nervous, came out of the tent to try to untie the knots and be able to close the layers and not have a view of the field.
Sin embargo, cuando estaba haciendo eso, detuvo en seco lo que hacia y volvió la cabeza hacia atras, dando un grito ahogado, así que, preocupada, me aventuré a salir de la tienda y mirar en la dirección en que ella lo hacía, entonces la vi:
However, as she was doing that, she stopped what she was doing and turned her head back, giving a gasp, so, worried, I ventured out of the tent and looked in the direction she was going, then I saw her:
Una mujer joven «caminaba» por el campo a unos escasos 5 metros de nosotras. Tenía el cabello cstaño o negro, muy largo y un vestido rosa. Ella no era éterea, sino que lucía corporea. Estaba de costado a nosotras y cuando llegó más allá de la carpa que teníamos enfrente y nos tapaba la vista, nos dimos cuenta de que la señorita no tenía pies.
A young woman "walked" through the field about 5 meters away from us. She had very long brown or black hair and a pink dress, she was not etheric, but she looked corporeal. She was standing sideways to us and when she got beyond the tent in front of us and was blocking our view, we realized that the young lady had no feet.
Alguien dentro de alguna de las tiendas (que claramente la había visto) gritó, y así todos los demás fueron saliendo de sus tiendas y poco a poco fueron viéndola, inclusó los profesores.
Someone inside one of the tents (who had clearly seen her) shouted and so everyone else came out of their tents and gradually saw her, including the teachers.
La mujer, sin darnos la espalda, siguió desplazándose hasta llegar detrás de una cabaña, detrás no había nada dónde pudiera esconderse, la única estructura ahí era esa cabaña que estaba cerrada con llave (un candado y cadera ya que era una especie de casa de herramientas) y del resto, toda el area era campo abierto, incluso se veía la carretera circundante, así que era imposible que alguien quisiera jugarnos una broma.
The woman, without turning her back on us, kept moving until she arrived behind the huts, there was nothing to hide behind, the only structure there was that hut that was locked (a padlock and a hip as it was a kind of tool house) and the rest, the whole area was esplanade, even the surrounding road could be seen so it was impossible that someone wanted to play a joke on us.
No hubo explicaciones acerca de la aparición por parte de los dueños, no más de «suele aparecer, viene del lago y desaparece tras la cabaña, y otras veces viene gritando y llorando» y decidimos no quedarnos otra noche, ya que todos sentimos la misma sensación de ahogo, frío extremo y parálisis. Sencillamente era algo en extremo desagradable que ninguno quería volver a experimentar y mucho menos esperar a que gritara y llorara en la oscuridad.
There were no explanations about the apparition from the owners, no more than "she usually appears, she comes from the lake and disappears behind the hut and other times she comes screaming and crying" and we decided not to stay another night as we all felt the same sensation of drowning, extreme cold and paralysis. It was simply something extremely unpleasant that none of us wanted to experience again, let alone wait for her to scream and cry in the dark.
