🎄 Hola, estimados amigos!🎄

🎄 Hi, dear friends!🎄

Friends of the community, welcome to my post of week # 39 on @Laradio. Participating with Christmas spirit in the Top5 initiative proposed by @radiohive, with this theme on the occasion of the December holidays. Occasion in which our sense of smell also enjoys the aromas of the season, which in most cases come from the kitchen. Right now I am detailing what my favorite Christmas scents are.

1° CUANDO LA LLUVIA MOJA LA TIERRA/ When the rain wets the earth

I love the rain for several reasons, the sound, the cold, I like to contemplate the rainy landscape. One more of those reasons is the smell that emerges from the ground when it gets wet. The smell of the earth when wet with running water is not the same as the aroma caused by the rain. It is nice, smells of fresh plants and natural environment.

2° EL AROMA DEL CHOCOLATE CALIENTE/ The smell of hot chocolate

Like coffee, the smell of hot chocolate is irresistible. In my country it is not a routine drink for many, it is special at this time, especially if the weather is cold. It does not have a schedule and the palate does not behave when it perceives that aroma. Accompanied or not, hot chocolate is my favorite holiday snack.

3° PAPEL DE REGALO NUEVO/ New gift paper

I have always loved giving and receiving gifts on special occasions. Christmas is undoubtedly the biggest festive season of the year for young and old. For everyone, gifts are an important part of the occasion. I really enjoy wrapping them precisely because the smell that the new paper gives off is one of my favorites.

4° EL OLOR DEL ASADO NEGRO EN EL HORNO / The smell of black roast in the oven

Any food that is being baked releases its particular aroma outside the oven. But on Christmas night my stomach is hypnotized by the smell of black roast in the oven. This is due to the specific ingredients such as wine, olives and capers, which give it the magical Christmas touch. That is why it is one of my favorite scents.

5° EL AROMA DE LA HALLACA RECIÉN HECHA/ The smell of hallacas just cooked.

As it happens with the roast, the freshly cooked and uncovered Hallaca still hot emanates that indescribable Christmas aroma, which you cannot resist eating it immediately. It is the typical Christmas dish in Venezuela, and its aroma is incomparable with the rest of the menus that are served during these days.

The sense of smell is closely tied to our stomach, so our brain as ruler inevitably betrays us. That makes us enjoy countless pleasant sensations.
