Yo perdí a mi papá cuando estaba pequeña, me quedé con mi mamá y esto hizo que nuestro lazo fuese muy fuerte. Sólo nos teníamos la una a la otra, y a mi abuelita, que aunque no vivía con nosotras aún visitamos constantemente, es nuestra casa de finde semana. Mi mamá y mi abuela son mis pilares y mi fuente de energía.
Sinceramente, debo agradecerle muchísimas cosas a mi mamá, aparte de haberme dado la vida, le agradezco su amor, su paciencia, su tiempo, hasta sus regaños, porque hoy por hoy soy lo que soy gracias a su crianza. Y sí es como ella me suele decir, que uno no nace con manual de cómo ser madre, la verdad no creo que ella haya necesitado uno porque lo hizo perfecto. Valoro cada desvelo, cada comida, cada abrazo, cada palabra que me dice, porque sé que hasta en las mínimas acciones están llenas de un amor puro y sincero que sólo una madre sabe dar.
Esta pandemia nos ha tenido separadas, pero cada vez que puedo viajo a mi pueblito a visitarlas, porque me llena de alegría verlas y pasar tiempo con ellas.
I lost my dad when I was little, I stayed with my mom and this made our bond very strong. We only had each other, and my grandmother, who even though she didn't live with us, we still visit her constantly, she is our weekend home. My mom and grandmother are my pillars and my source of energy.
Honestly, I have a lot to thank my mom for, apart from having given me life, I thank her for her love, her patience, her time, even her scoldings, because today I am what I am thanks to her upbringing. And yes, as she used to tell me, that one is not born with a manual on how to be a mother, the truth is that I don't think she needed one because she did it perfectly. I value every sleepless night, every meal, every hug, every word she says to me, because I know that even the smallest actions are full of pure and sincere love that only a mother knows how to give.
This pandemic has kept us apart, but every time I can I travel to my little town to visit them, because it fills me with joy to see them and spend time with them.
Estas dos señoras que ven acá son mi abuela y mi mamá, sus nombres son Carmen Emilia y Yasmín Emilia, respectivamente. Siempre me consienten cuando estoy de regreso y algo común que solían hacerme de niña era mi espagueti con leche y quesito mientras veía comiquitas, estos recuerdos son tan valiosos para mí como un tesoro, y es una costumbre que se mantiene al igual que mi café o "guarapito" como le decimos en el Oriente de mi país Venezuela, con mi pan y mantequilla.
Les mostraré la receta de como se hace esta ricura, para que puedan recrearla en su casita.
These two ladies you see here are my grandmother and my mother, their names are Carmen Emilia and Yasmín Emilia, respectively. They always spoil me when I am back and something common that they used to make me when I was a child was my spaghetti with milk and cheese while watching cartoons, these memories are as valuable to me as a treasure, and it is a custom that is maintained as well as my coffee or "guarapito" as we say in the East of my country Venezuela, with my bread and butter.

A mis 22 años de edad me he vuelto una experta haciendo esta comida de tanto verlas a ellas en la cocina, por lo que estoy segura que será una receta que también les haré a mis futuros hijos.
Sólo necesitarán:
- Espagueti de su preferencia
- Queso
- Salchichas
- Leche
- Mantequilla
At 22 years old, I've become an expert at making this meal from watching them in the kitchen, so I'm sure it will be a recipe I'll make for my future children as well.
All you will need is:
- Spaghetti of your choice
- Cheese
- Sausage
- Milk
- Butter
Lo primero es rayar el queso, picar las salchichas y preparar la taza de leche, para tener esto listo y reservado.
The first thing is to grate the cheese, chop the sausages and prepare the cup of milk, to have this ready and reserved.
Sancochamos nuestro espagueti, y cuando esté listo lo colamos normalmente. Y colocamos la leche con la mantequilla en la olla a fuego bajo, mientras se escurre el espagueti.
We boil our spaghetti, and when it is ready we strain it normally. And we put the milk with the butter in the pot over low heat, while the spaghetti is drained.
Cuando la mantequilla y la leche se hayan unido, agregamos la pasta y removemos, poco a poco agregamos queso y salchichas, y cocinas a fuego bajo hasta que la leche seque casi por completo, y nos quede estilo carbonara. En ese punto estará lista!
When the butter and milk have united, add the pasta and stir, gradually add cheese and sausages, and cook over low heat until the milk is almost completely dry, and we have a carbonara style. At that point it will be ready!
