First, let's clear a possible confusion: OffChain Luxembourg is the local chapter of OffChain Global, an unincorporated association of crypto professionals and enthusiasts with almost 80 chapters around the world.
In the scope of OffChain Luxembourg, we decided to embark on what was at first an exploratory project of creating a "virtual country with a currency" and offering to the public the first MiCA-compliant token in Luxembourg (OCLT).
As a consequence, and in keeping with MiCA's requirements, we:
- Incorporated a non-profit, OffChain Luxembourg a.s.b.l., duly registered as a "legal entity" in Luxembourg
- Published a MiCA-compliant Whitepaper for our OCLT token, and
- Created a website for what MiCA calls "marketing communication"

Offchain Luxembourg a.s.b.l is active along six different verticals.
- We are operating two open discussion groups, on WhatsApp and Telegram (the former being considerably livelier) and an 'in-person' weekly informal event, called Letz'OffChain, every Thursday at Indie's (@indies.cafe). In addition, we also organise formal events with a certain regularity. Events are after all the core calling of OffChain chapters all over the world. These opportunities are open to anyone, members and non-members. We encourage you to start by joining these open fora, whether online or 'in real life' or both, and get to know us better.

While the first vertical is open to anyone, members get in addition the opportunity to engage in any of or all the other 5 "action streams", which are not open to non-members.
It is important to emphasise that, in all its activities, OffChain Luxembourg asbl has a strong local anchoring and dimension. We are not a typical crypto community of mostly pseudonymous avatars interacting exclusively online, but rather a group of people from Luxembourg and the Greater Region, who interact openly and actively seek opportunities for meeting and exchanging offchain, "in real life"
To understand what that means concretely, we invite you to first join the WhatsApp group if you are not already there (if you are, then please engage there).
One thing we want to stress out though: becoming a member also entails obligations, in addition to bringing benefits. The most important being to be aware of and adhere to our "articles of association". We draw particular attention to articles 8, 9 and 10.
