On September 22, 1939, units of the XIX motorized corps of the Wehrmacht and the 4th battalion of the 29th separate tank brigade of the Red Army marched through the central street in the city of Brest, which then belonged to Poland. Then there was a meeting of German and Soviet troops on the territory of defeated Poland. This is such an inconvenient truth that the former Soviet and current Russian propaganda leaves aside.
22 вересня 1939 року у м. Брест (Бере́стя, Брест-Литоськ), який тоді належав Польщі, пройшли урочистим маршем по центральній вулиці підрозділи XIX моторизованого корпусу вермахту і 4-й батальйон 29-ї окремої танкової бригади Червоної Армії. The Second World War began on September 1, 1939, with the German attack on Poland. And already on September 17, 1939, the SRS invaded the territory of Poland from the East. Poland did not expect this at all, so it quickly capitulated.
Brest was occupied by both armies on September 22. According to the secret protocol, Brest was transferred to the Soviet Union, so the next day the German troops had to leave the city. As a farewell, the new allies decided to celebrate a successful operation. On September 22, a parade was held, which was hosted by two commanders in full uniform: Heinz Guderian and Semyon Krivoshein. They are in the first photo.

Брест був окупований 22 вересня одразу обома арміями. Згідно з секретним протоколом, Брест переходив до ССР, тому наступного дня німецькі війська повинні були покинути місто.
