Вкотре задумалась, чи правильно я написала Геловін і перевірила, але схоже, що саме так відповідно до сучасного правопису (і воно так лягає легше, якщо знаєш, що H транслітерується в Г, а подвоєння українській мові непритаманні, тобто не використовуються там, де не треба). Коли шукала вбрання донечці минулого року, то прям перебирала всі варіанти, щоб знайти магазин з достатнім різноманіттям костюмів. І це виявилась нездійсненна місія :) цього року вже бачу значно більше, але вона хоче бути відьмою.
Сценка поки що дуже темна, тому що я маю тільки місячне освітлення. І я не хочу, щоб воно сперечалось з місцевим. В сцені у мене мають бути свічки в гарбузах, досить потужне тепле світло від ліхтарика. І привиди, які будуть світитись голубим.
Лавочку я ще буду переробляти, бо вона сюди не личить. Вийшла надто проволочна. І там я ще не знала про модифікатор Array, який мені рівненько розставляє об'єкти. Тому на лавочці дошки на око поставлені, а спинка взагалі розбита по дистанції через опору. І це я розумію, що так залишати не можна. Але процес навчання такий.
Паркан також недороблений, бо ще будуть стрільчасті перетинки, і в одному місці я їх хочу погнути, щоб звідти визирав один з привидів. Це якщо я взагалі зможу замоделити таких персонажів, бо в голові воно все дуже красиве.
Щодо дерева я ще розмірковую. Бо з одного боку воно вийшло дуже кострубате, але з іншого боку для сцени Геловіну це досить аутентично. Тільки дещо поправити товщину гілок.
А роботи ще ого-го. Паркан, лавочка, гарбузи, свічки, ліхтар, доріжка, привиди, зів'яле листя, можливо кажани, і можливо павук з павутинням.
Зараз звірилась з своїм концептом і згадала, що ще хотіла якийсь плетений бур'ян на паркані, ковдру на лавці. От візок з гарбузами я вирішила не робити, бо він буде мені перегромаджувати сцену, але якщо цей куток буде пустим, то я ще повернусь до нього. Саме там буде виглядати привид, який забезпечить цікавинку і має збалансувати сценку. Але це ще треба буде подивитись по результату.
Книжка також малюється, залишилось десь шість-сім персонажів до фіналізації. Я ще думаю чи потурбувати менторку з нашого курсу і попросити у неї фідбек і поради, або взяти повну відповідальність за результат на себе.

Once again, I started wondering whether I spelled “Halloween” in Ukrainian correctly and double-checked it. It seems I did, according to modern Ukrainian orthography (and it feels more natural when you know that “H” transliterates as “Г,” and that doubling letters is uncommon in Ukrainian — used only when necessary). Last year, when I was looking for a costume for my daughter, I went through all the options trying to find a shop with enough variety. It turned out to be mission impossible :) This year I already see a lot more, but she wants to be a witch.
The scene is still very dark because I only have moonlight lighting. I don’t want it to clash with the local atmosphere. In the scene, I plan to have candles inside pumpkins, a fairly strong warm light from a lantern, and ghosts glowing blue.
I’ll be reworking the bench — it doesn’t quite fit here. It came out too wiry. Back then, I didn’t know about the Array modifier that neatly arranges objects. So the planks on the bench were placed by eye, and the backrest is unevenly spaced due to the support. I realize I can’t leave it like that. But that’s part of the learning process.
The fence is also unfinished — I still want to add pointed slats, and in one spot I plan to bend them so a ghost can peek through. That’s if I manage to model such characters at all, because in my head it all looks very beautiful.
I’m still thinking about the tree. On one hand, it came out quite gnarly, but on the other hand, that’s pretty authentic for a Halloween scene. I just need to adjust the thickness of the branches a bit.
And there’s still a ton of work to do: the fence, the bench, pumpkins, candles, lantern, path, ghosts, withered leaves, maybe bats, and maybe a spider with a web. I just checked my concept again and remembered I also wanted some woven weeds on the fence and a blanket on the bench. I decided not to make the pumpkin cart because it would overcrowd the scene — but if that corner ends up empty, I might come back to it. That’s where the ghost will appear, adding a point of interest and helping to balance the scene. But I’ll have to see how it turns out.
The book is also in progress — about six or seven characters left to finalize. I’m still debating whether to bother our course mentor and ask her for feedback and advice, or to take full responsibility for the result myself.
