Він передбачає, що під час дії воєнного стану військовослужбовцям можуть надавати частину щорічної основної відпустки, а також відпустку за сімейними обставинами та з інших поважних причин зі збереженням грошового забезпечення. Кожна з цих відпусток може бути надана не більш як на 10 календарних днів без урахування часу, необхідного для проїзду в межах України до місця проведення відпустки та назад, але не більше ніж дві доби в один кінець.
