В перший місяць після масштабного вторгнення російьких військ в Київську область мирні жителі хаотично втікали подалі від війни, залишаючи свої домівки. На жаль, в приватних будинках покинули дуже багато домашніх тварин. Представників неагресивних порід просто випускали на вулицю, щоб ті змогли вижити, самостійно шукаючи собі їжу. Зрадники, подумаєте ви? Звісно, так воно виглядає зі сторони. Але як може вчинили кожен з нас в критичний момент, сподіваюсь, нікому не доведеться це перевірити.
In the first month after the large-scale invasion of Russian troops in the Kyiv region, civilians chaotically fled away from the war, leaving their homes. Unfortunately, many pets were abandoned in private homes. Representatives of non-aggressive breeds were simply released into the street so that they could survive by looking for food on their own. Traitors, you think? Of course, this is how it looks from the outside. But how can each of us act at a critical moment, I hope no one will have to check it.
На початку квітня місяця, коли ми повернули до свого села, дуже кинулось в очі те, що безпритульних собак, які блукали вулицями села стало в рази більше ніж людей, які залишились. Волонтери, які займались забезпеченням військових, намагались трохи їх підгодовувати.
At the beginning of April, when we returned to our village, it was very noticeable that there were many times more homeless dogs wandering the streets of the village than people who remained. The volunteers, who were engaged in providing for the military, tried to feed them a little.
Нарешті, коли російську армію вигнали з київської області, до села почали активно повертатися люди і безпритульних собак поменшало в рази. Хтось повернувся до старих господарів, когось забрали до себе люди. З липня активізувалися зооволонтери, які просили громадян допомогти у стерилізації собак, які і далі вимушені залишатись жити на вулиці. В одній з ветлікарень найближчого містечка розгорнули операційні і впродовж трьох днів приймали хвостатих пацієнтів.
Finally, when the Russian army was expelled from the Kyiv region, people began to actively return to the village and the number of homeless dogs decreased many times. Someone returned to their old owners, someone was taken in by the people. Since July, animal volunteers have become more active, asking citizens to help sterilize dogs that are still forced to live on the street. In one of the vet clinics in the nearest town, operating rooms were opened and tailed patients were admitted for three days.
На жаль, потребуючих виявилось більше. Але те що вже зроблено і так дозволить суттєво покращити ситуацію з популяцією безпритульних тварин. Волонтери пообіцяли організувати ще один етап безкоштовних щеплень і стерилізації безпритульних тварин через місяць і закликають більш відповідально ставитись до рішень завести домашню тварину, щоб бути готовим відповідати за неї при будь-яких обставинах.
Unfortunately, there were more animals than the volunteer center could handle. But what has already been done will significantly improve the situation with the population of homeless animals. Volunteers have promised to organize another round of free vaccinations and sterilization of homeless animals in a month and call for more responsibility in decisions to get a pet, and to be ready to take care of it under any circumstances.
