Since a few days ago something strange has been happening in China. A new outbreak of the covid-19 virus forced the Asian authorities to quarantine one of the main cities and commercial ports, I am talking about the city of Shanghai.
Many people may think that there is nothing strange about a country suffering from the virus, but the reason that leads me to think that something is not right is that China was the first country to suffer an outbreak of the pandemic and at that time the authorities were very efficient and managed to control the pandemic in record time.
Now with a vaccinated population and experience in pandemic control the Chinese authorities do not seem to be doing a good job in the city of Shanghai, multiple videos show how the authorities simply forced the population into a radical quarantine.
That decision paralysed one of the world's most important commercial ports, causing the supply chain to be affected in most of the countries that trade with China, a real madness is happening in the countries that depend commercially on China.
Shortages in countries like the United States are causing inflation never seen before in that country, it seems that US dependence on Chinese trade is causing Americans to suffer shortages and inflation that can destabilise their country.
Taking all this into account, I find it very strange that a country that first brought the pandemic under control and now has 90% of its citizens vaccinated has to resort to radical quarantines that have proven to be ineffective.
In my view, paralysing the city of Shanghai and with it the supply chain is a strategy to damage the US and European economies, which now have to deal with runaway inflation and the lack of materials for their industry.
It is no secret that today the economy has become a weapon with which a country tries to control its enemies. The Chinese government has realised that it can make the US and European economies suffer more efficiently than Russia, which until recently tried to subdue Europe by making it dependent on its natural gas.
The world is heading for an economic crisis and the Chinese saw their opportunity to sabotage the world economy and accelerate the economic crisis of their enemies, in order to establish themselves as the new dominant power. It is worth noting that in this power game the only losers are the citizens who are being used as chess pieces in a power game.
In conclusion, the crisis is inevitable so we must be prepared with food and medicines that can help us to stay safe while the crisis passes, having food, medicines and a source of water can guarantee the survival of the family.
As a curious fact after living through the inflation in Venezuela, basic needs should always be the priority, food, medicine and water are the resources that make the difference between facing the crisis calmly and despairing for not having anything to eat.
