We are total opposites! But that’s the best kind of person to learn from, right? I feel we are solving the opposite problems and can meet right in the middle.
I love how you separate true desires and neurotic desires. I often think of it in a very similar way. In some meditation or spirituality circles you might say “the desires of the true self vs the desires of the ego”.
I believe that if we follow our true desires 100% things tend to work out. It’s really difficult to distinguish sometimes though and if we follow our neurotic desires we end up destroying our life!
So my answer to the answer to the question of how much we should control our desires is...to whatever extent that they are neurotic desires.
