La semana pasada estuvo de cumpleaños una amiga y compañera de colegio de mi hija, y su mamá nos invitó el sábado a picarle una torta y compartir un rato agradable.

Last week was the birthday of a friend and schoolmate of my daughter, and her mom invited us on Saturday to nibble a cake and share a nice time.
Fueron invitados algunos niños del salón de clases y obviamente fueron acompañados por sus madres, solo estuvo un padre en la reunión, mi esposo.
Nosotros somos amigos especiales de la Sra. Carmen (la mamá de la cumpleañera) quien ha sido una muy buena persona con nosotros y tratamos en la medida de lo posible de retribuirle todo.
Así que fuimos a acompañarla en esta ocasión tan especial, estuvimos hablando entre madres y padre de los sucesos del colegio, anécdotas agradables y no tan agradables, debatiendo sobre la didáctica de la maestra entre otras cosas, pasamos un rato muy ameno.
La reunión fue un poco tarde, tipo 5 pm, y nos ofrecieron sangría para compartir, a los niños refrescos.
Luego colocaron Karaoke y todos estaban animados cantando canciones viejas muy bonitas, la cumpleañera además tiene una muy bonita voz y es músico como su papá y su mamá, tiene mucho talento.
Y todas las niñas cantaban con ella las letras de las canciones.
Some children from the classroom were invited and obviously they were accompanied by their mothers, there was only one parent at the reunion, my husband.
We are special friends of Mrs. Carmen (the birthday girl's mother) who has been a very good person to us and we try as much as possible to repay her for everything.
So we went to accompany her on this special occasion, we were talking between mothers and fathers about the events of the school, pleasant and not so pleasant anecdotes, discussing about the didactics of the teacher among other things, we had a very pleasant time.
The meeting was a little late, about 5 pm, and we were offered sangria to share, and refreshments for the children.
Then they played Karaoke and everyone was in high spirits singing beautiful old songs, the birthday girl also has a very nice voice and is a musician like her mom and dad, she has a lot of talent.
And all the girls sang with her the lyrics of the songs.
Y llego la hora de picar la torta
Fue un rato muy ameno, de hecho estuvimos hasta las 9 pm compartiendo, y nos fuimos por que ya era muy tarde y teníamos otro compromiso con unos amigos, por que si es por la Sra. Carmen nos quedamos hasta media noche o más.
Estos momentos son especiales para los niños y para los adultos también, para forjar lazos de comunicación y por que no también de amistad.
It was a very enjoyable time, in fact we stayed until 9 pm sharing, and we left because it was already very late and we had another commitment with some friends, because if it was for Mrs. Carmen we would stay until midnight or more.
These moments are special for children and for adults too, to forge bonds of communication and why not also friendship.
