When I was buying cloth for my baby I got more of cover cloth like sweaters, overall and sweet shirts.
I also got some singlets that are cool and comfy.
I guess you should ask for help from any experience mom that stay around you.

Yeah well sweaters is not something that people were in the summer in Spain, for us adults that's often at least December that we wear these, but of course a baby would need it sooner if going outside or inside air conditioning but in summer it would probably be a thinner long sleeve to cover the arms instead. I have to dig around for advice and will probably aim for a mix of things in the end :)
