Now she flatly refuses to walk. These are the times when I wonder if we reacted wrong or something else. I must confess that we cried with emotion when we saw her take little steps toward grandma. They grow up so fast that you want to pause and rewind those beautiful moments you had with them. Watching your baby grow is incomparable and the first steps are part of those experiences.

I start with the topic of walking because it is what worries me the most, she crawls everywhere, stands on her own, takes small steps in short distances, and knows that grandpa is in every room of the house and knows how to get there perfectly. Maybe she lacks some confidence in walking, the truth is that I don't know. I try to respect her stages, but I wouldn't know how to identify if something is wrong, so I would appreciate your experiences. The pediatrician last time, saw her said she was fine and that calms me down a bit, so I guess I should relax but being my first daughter it's inevitable to worry.
Learning progress and funny anecdotes
After getting my biggest anxiety off my chest I will tell you how little Sofia is doing, who will soon reach her first birthday. Not a day goes by that she doesn't surprise us. I have many funny anecdotes of her showing innocence, mischief, and joy but I think my favorites are the ones that show how she is already forming concepts of the environment around her. Somehow she already knows that the remote control is to turn on or off the TV and the phone is to talk to other people. She knows that seeing plates is synonymous with food, so she gets excited and demands hers. It is worth noting that she thinks all the plates are her's so she asks others for their plates.
She is already assimilating little by little the concept of ownership. I enjoy watching her take ownership of certain things, usually boxes or pots that give her a lot of fun. She enjoys simple items because they generate a lot of curiosity. She also knows that toys are always hers and refuses to give them away if she wants to. Yesterday was fun because her grandpa asked her nicely for a white teddy bear which is one of her favorites. She didn't want to give it to him and you could tell, we knew she wouldn't, but the solution she found blew us away: she grabbed the dinosaur she had nearby and gave it to him. It was so funny we couldn't help but laugh, grandpa got his consolation prize and she kept her bear; everyone was happy.
She also understands many words and has already learned to say "Hey", "mama" "dad" and "No" although she is still learning to use them properly. But well, she is learning little by little. The funniest thing is when she says "no" to everything and when you don't pay attention she says "Hey" to get your attention. How they know how to make themselves feel! And even more when they are already used to being the center of attention.
Sofia, being the only baby, is not used to someone not looking out for her and even though there are several at home, at certain times she has to be left in the playpen with her toys because we are all busy.
There she mysteriously starts to use words in the right way, screams, jumps, and takes toys out of the playpen to be picked up. If none of this works as a last resort she starts to cry and someone has to take care of her. To distract her we play hide and scare (she has already learned to scare others) or we play some music that she likes, right now her favorite is the Gallo Bartolito, and to be honest, sometimes we go crazy because she listens to it so much.
Every day we are thankful to have such a healthy and active little girl. To see her smiling, crawling, walking, crawling, hiding, and exploring is a blessing. Although sometimes you have to be very vigilant because she likes to chase bugs, otherwise she is quite well behaved. Her favorite animal to chase is still Cleopatra, but the cat has a temper; some days she loves her, some days she doesn't, but whether she wants to play with Sofia or not, my daughter loves her unconditionally.
I enjoy all the time I can with her. I love watching her grow, it's exciting to see her first tooth come out, reach for objects, and try new things every day. I have my worries, but I hope they will be solved little by little because all children have different growth and learning processes.
She is eleven months old now and is slowly growing out of being a baby. I am pleased to see her get this far and I pray to the Creator every day to allow us the joy of being with her for many years to come. Jesus and I are very happy and I am sure she is too.

Dio sus primeros pasos pero...
Ahora se niega rotundamente a caminar. Estas son las ocasiones en donde me pregunto si hicimos mal al reaccionar o alguna otra cosa. Debo confesar que lloramos de emoción al verla dar pasitos hacia la abuela. Crecen tan rápido que deseas darle pausa y rebobinar aquellos hermosos momentos que vives junto a ellos. Ver a tu bebé crecer es incomparable y los primeros pasos son parte de esas vivencias.
Empiezo con el tema de caminar porque es lo que mas preocupa, ella gatea por todos lados se para solas, da pasitos en trayectos cortos y sabe que abuelo esta en cada cuarto de la casa y sabe llegar allí perfectamente. Quizás le falte algo de confianza al caminar, la verdad es que no lo sé. Trato de respetar sus etapas, pero no sabría identificar si algo anda mal, así que agradecería sus experiencias. El pediatra la última vez, la vio bien y eso me calma un poco, así que supongo que debo relajarme pero siendo mi primera hija es inevitable preocuparme.
Avances en el aprendizaje y anécdotas divertidas
Luego de sacarme mi mayor ansiedad del pecho les contaré como va la pequeña Sofía que pronto llega a su primer año. No pasa un día en que no nos sorprenda. Tengo muchas anécdotas divertidas de ella mostrando inocencia, picardía y alegría pero creo que mis favoritas son las que demuestran como ya va formándose conceptos del ambiente que la rodea. De alguna manera ya sabe que el control es para apagar o prender el televisor y el teléfono es para hablar con otras personas. Sabe que al ver platos es sinónimo de comida así que se emociona y exige el suyo. Cabe resaltar que cree que todos los platos son suyos así que le pide los platos a los demás.
Ya asimila poco a poco el concepto de propiedad. Disfruto mucho ver como se apropia de ciertas cosas, normalmente son cajas o potes que le dan mucha diversión. Ella disfruta de los elementos simples porque le generan mucha curiosidad. También sabe que los juguetes son siempre suyos y se niega a darlos si quiere. Ayer fue divertido porque su abuelo le pidió amablemente un osito blanco que es uno de sus favoritos. Ella no quería dárselo y se le notaba, sabíamos que no lo haría, pero la solución que halló nos dejó sorprendidos: Agarró el dinosaurio que tenía cerca y se lo dio. Fue tan gracioso que no pudimos evitar reírnos, el abuelo agarró su premio de consolación y ella se quedó su oso; todos felices.
También entiende muchas palabras y ya ha aprendido a decir "Ey", “mamá" o "papá "y "No" aunque todavía esta aprendiendo a usarlas debidamente. Pero bueno, va aprendiendo poco a poco. Lo más gracioso es cuando a todo le dice "no" y cuando no le prestas atención te dice "Ey" para llamar tu atención.¡Como saben hacerse sentir! y más cuando ya están acostumbrados a ser el centro de las miradas.
Sofía al ser la única bebé no está acostumbrada a que alguien no esté pendiente de ella y a pesar de que hay varios en casa en ciertos momentos toca dejarla en el corral con sus juguetes por que todos estamos ocupados.
Allí ella empieza a usar misteriosamente las palabras de manera correcta, grita, salta y saca juguetes del corral para que se lo recojan. Si nada de esto funciona como último recurso se pone a llorar y alguien tiene que atenderla Para distraerla jugamos a esconderse y asustarse (ya aprendió a asustar a los demás) o colocamos alguna música que le guste, ahorita su preferida es la del Gallo Bartolito y siendo sinceros, a veces nos volvemos loco de tanto que la escucha.
Cada día agradecemos por tener una niña tan sana y activa. Verla sonreír, gatear, dar pasitos, esconderse y explorar es una bendición. Aunque a veces hay que estar muy pendiente porque le gusta perseguir insectos, pero de resto se porta bastante bien. Su animal favorito para perseguir sigue siendo Cleopatra, pero la gata tiene su carácter; hay días que la ama, hay otros días que no, pero sea que quiera jugar con Sofía o no, mi hija la ama de manera incondicional.
Disfruto todo el tiempo que puedo junto a ella. Amo verla crecer, es emocionante ver su primer diente salir, alcanzar objetos e intentar hacer cosas nuevas todos los días. Tengo mis preocupaciones, pero espero que se vayan solucionando poco a poco porque todos los niños tienen procesos de crecimiento y aprendizaje distintos.
Ya tiene once meses y poco a poco dejar de ser un bebé. Me complace verla llegar hasta aquí y le ruego al Creador todos los días que nos permita la dicha de estar muchos años junto a ella. Jesús y yo somos muy felices y estoy segura que ella también.

Si, dejan de ser bebés poco a poco, biológicamente crecen casi sin percibirlo, pero para mí las siento aún como mis bebés (tengo dos niñas de 9 y 11). Hablan mas como pre adolescentes, uno lo sabe pero en ciertos momentos sentimos niveles de ternura tal que nuestros ojos del corazón pierden la perspectiva. Excelente. Bella Sofia.

Hola mi bella @jerusa777, tenia días que no sabia del progreso de tu hermosa princesa Sofia, me contenta mucho que este creciendo muy sana y que ya este comenzando a dar sus primeros pasos, mi niño cumple el año el lunes y aun no se para solo ni nada de nada, pero el tiempo de Dios es perfecto y debemos aprender a tener paciencia, cuando menos lo esperes la veraz caminar solita.
