It is beautiful to gather as a family to talk about our origins, where we come from, where our first ancestors lived, and about many facts that concern our family. When I was a girl my father and mother told me and to my brothers and sisters stories about their origins, and that woke up in me the desire to investigate about my family history.
I have spent many years investigating the origin of my surnames. I started with two surnames, then it became a stair with many steps, say 4, then 8, 16, 32, 64 and still the stair keeps growing. Every time I discover a new surname I communicate the information to my children, and they know they will see the new name in their family tree, and of course they pass on the new information to their children.
I created a family tree on line of all the family. They opened their own personal accounts, and when I add a new name they can see it in their own family tree. I can say we are a generational family, I make big efforts to include all the members of the family that I know exist, even the alive and the dead.
You can start forming family groups, parents family group, grandparents family group and so on, and you may include pictures if you have them. I have a picture of Jean Henry d'Arriete Prud'homme an ancestor who was born about 1400 in Normandie, France. Someone by that time painted him. You can discover many things you don't know about your origins. My children now know they descend from italians, french and other nationalities.
To know about our origins gives as an anchor in life and a motive to face all the circunstances of life. The stories we learn about our ancestors will make us proud of what they did, and will encourage us to keep on fighting when we have to face difficult moments. It is like the entire family is there supporting us.
When Diego Fernandez De Serpa came in an expedition to Venezuela to colonize the city of Cumaná, he brought with him many families and among them there was a 14th grandmother who was valient to come in that ship, she came with her husband and 5 children, but she couldn't get to land, she died in the ship and she was buried in the Atlantic Sea. Her children arrived to the city of Cumaná and fighted against the indians, and finally they settled there and formed 6 prolific families that helped to populate the orient part of Venezuela.
I am sure all families have beautiful stories to tell their children. Stories that will teach us lessons of courage, love, sacrifices, endurance, hard work, resilience, and why not these stories will help us find solutions to our own personal conflicts. We can teach our children to recopilate all the information about our ancestors in a family tree and other memories, and also teach them they are sacred.

Es bonito reunirse como familia para hablar de nuestros orígenes, para hablar de dónde venimos, dónde vivieron nuestros antepasados y para hablar de muchos hechos que conciernen a nuestra familia. Cuando era niña mi padre y mi madre nos contaban a mí y a mis hermanos historias sobre sus orígenes, y eso despertó en mí el deseo de investigar sobre mi historia familiar.
He pasado muchos años investigando el origen de mis apellidos. Empecé con dos apellidos, luego se convirtió en una escalera con muchos escalones, digamos 4, luego 8, 16, 32, 64 y todavía la escalera sigue creciendo. Cada vez que descubro un nuevo apellido se lo comunico a mis hijos, y ellos saben que verán el nuevo nombre en su árbol genealógico, y por supuesto ellos transmiten la nueva información a sus hijos.
He creado un árbol genealógico en línea de toda la familia y mis hijos han abierto sus propias cuentas personales, y cuando añado un nuevo nombre ellos pueden verlo en su propios arboles genealógicos. Puedo decir que somos una familia generacional, me esfuerzo por incluir a todos los miembros de la familia que sé que existen, incluso los vivos y los muertos.
Puedes empezar a formar grupos familiares, grupo familiar de padres, grupo familiar de abuelos, etc., también puedes incluir fotos si las tienes. Tengo una foto de Jean Henry d'Arriete Prud'homme un antepasado que nació alrededor de 1400 en Normandía, Francia. Alguien de esa época lo pintó. Puedes descubrir muchas cosas que no sabes sobre tus orígenes. Mis hijos ahora saben que descienden de italianos, franceses y otras nacionalidades.
Conocer sobre nuestros orígenes nos da un ancla en la vida y un motivo para enfrentarnos a todas las circunstancias que se nos presenten. Las historias que conozcamos de nuestros antepasados nos harán sentirnos orgullosos de lo que ellos hicieron y nos animarán a seguir luchando cuando tengamos que enfrentarnos a momentos difíciles, es como si toda la familia estuviera apoyándonos.

Sus hijos llegaron a la ciudad de Cumaná y lucharon contra los indios, finalmente se establecieron allí y formaron 6 prolíficas familias que ayudaron a poblar el oriente de Venezuela.
Estoy segura de que todas las familias tienen hermosas historias que contar a sus hijos. Historias que nos enseñarán lecciones de coraje, amor, sacrificios, resistencia, trabajo duro, resiliencia, y por qué no, estas historias nos ayudarán a encontrar soluciones a nuestros propios conflictos personales. Podemos enseñar a nuestros hijos a recopilar toda la información sobre nuestros antepasados en un árbol genealógico y otros tipos de recuerdos, también debemos enseñarles que son sagrados.
