At home we have a small nativity scene in a corner of our kitchen that belonged to my maternal great-great-grandmother who was called Josefa and was given to my mother by a cousin of hers when she moved to our house so that it could continue from generation to generation since she could not have children, it is about 80 years old and for 22 years we take care of it with much love and where every year we place the Three Wise Men arriving at the Nativity Scene.
For the girls it was not a tradition to receive gifts on Three Kings Day, only on Christmas as the gifts are brought by Santa Claus because the arrival of the baby Jesus is to indicate the longings of our heart, I always let the girls know why Three Kings Day is celebrated in our life as Catholic Christians and I take them out to recreate in spaces outside our home so they can distract themselves, this year I did not have the opportunity to create an outing plan for this day to tell the truth.
But on this day there was a surprise for me and an exception in terms of gifts as my aunt who is their great-aunt called me to take them to my grandmother's house so they could receive a gift, she has a huge nativity scene that she always places in front of her house, every year for as long as I can remember, the Kings had arrived and brought the girls some beautiful presents.
I took them to their great grandmother's house so they could see their presents, two wands with princess lights as Alys says were in the manger and the girls ran out to take them, they played with them all afternoon and they are very happy with their presents which are quite good to distract them at night with the power cuts, we hope their battery doesn't run out quickly because they want to keep them on all day.
Now I have a new tradition to leave them a Three Kings Day gift, because surely next year they will not forget to leave their request for gifts to the kings, because something if children have is good memory and when it comes to gifts they get excited enough, if it makes them happy it makes me happy too because my mission every day is that they live a happy childhood and remember with joy all their lives, because that is our main mission as parents.

En casa tenemos un pequeño nacimiento en un rincón de nuestra cocina que era de mi tatarabuela materna que se llamaba Josefa y se le fue obsequiado a mi mamá por parte de una prima de ella cuando se mudo a nuestra casa con la finalidad de que pudiera seguir de generación en generación ya que ella no pudo tener hijos, tiene unos 80 años y desde hace 22 años lo cuidamos con mucho amor y donde cada año colocamos a los Reyes Magos llegando al Pesebre.
Para las niñas no era una tradición recibir regalos el Día de Reyes, solamente en Navidad al igual que los regalos los trae Santa Claus porque la llegada del niño Jesús es para indicarle los anhelos de nuestro corazón, siempre les hago saber a las niñas el por qué se celebra el Día de Reyes día en nuestra vida como cristianos católicos y las llevo a salir a recrearse en espacios fuera de nuestra casa para que puedan distraerse, este año no tuve la oportunidad de crear un plan de salida para este día a decir verdad.
Pero en este día hubo una sorpresa para mi y una excepción en cuanto a los regalos ya que mi tía que es su tía-abuela me llamó para llevarlas a casa de mi abuela para que pudiesen recibir un regalo, ella tiene un enorme pesebre que siempre coloca en el frente de su casa, cada año desde que puedo hacer uso de mi memoria, los Reyes habían llegado y habían traído a las niñas unos hermosos presentes.
Las llevé a casa de su bisabuela para que pudiesen ver sus regalos, dos varitas con luces de princesa como dice Alys estaban en el pesebre y las niñas salieron corriendo a tomarlas, jugaron con ellas durante toda la tarde y están muy felices con sus obsequios que son bastantes buenas para distraerlas por las noches con los cortes eléctricos, esperamos su batería no se agote rápido porque quieran tenerlas prendidas todo el día.
Ahora tengo una nueva tradición dejarles un regalo de Día de Reyes, porque seguramente el siguiente año no olvidarán dejar su petición de regalos a los reyes, porque algo si tienen los niños es buena memoria y cuando se trata de regalos se emocionan bastante, si a ellas les hace feliz a mi también porque mi misión de todos los días es que vivan una infancia feliz y que recuerden con alegría toda su vida, porque esa es nuestra misión principal como padres.

Those little things mean a lot to them and it’s our responsibility to put smiles on their faces.
