In an effort to stimulate the approach to books, we bought the little bee the story Red Riding Hood at the recent Book Fair that took place this year, a classic that is a reference in world literature. This copy has a thick cover and is of considerable size so that its illustrations occupy a large part of each page, which plays in favor of the children because it facilitates the process of association. The drawings are colorful and very striking.
Although one aspect I didn't like is that the handwriting is cursive, but Alma listens attentively and repeats gestures and sounds, as she reads or indicates them. She looks very funny when the narration names Little Red Riding Hood and she points to herself as the girl, also when it is read that they are knocking on the door and she does the same in the room, she also makes the howl of the wolf and starts running as if she were Little Red Riding Hood.
The child is happy with her book, she looks for it every day so we can read it to her. The stimulation has been positive, she is attracted to the dramatization of the scenes, especially when the wolf pretends to be the grandmother, she is perplexed listening to the imitation of the voices.
Alma decides which pages to look at, goes back to the beginning again and again, identifies the characters and relates them to her close social circle, for example, I am Little Red Riding Hood's mom, grandma is my mom, the woodcutter is my dad and the protagonist of the story is her, as I pointed out before, representing a little girl who appears in all the pages.
We want Alma to lean towards books and not towards smart phone screens, the task is not easy because what she sees around her is people immersed in their technological devices, so with her we are swimming against the current.

En el afán de estimular el acercamiento a los libros, le compramos a la pequeña abeja el cuento Caperucita Roja en la reciente Feria del Libro que se realizó este año, un clásico que es referencia en la literatura universal. Este ejemplar es de tapa gruesa y de tamaño considerable para que sus ilustraciones ocupen gran parte de cada hoja, lo cual juega a favor de los niños porque les facilita el proceso de asociación. Los dibujos son coloridos y muy llamativos.
Aunque un aspecto que no me agradó es que la letra es cursiva, pero Alma escucha atentamente y va repitiendo gestos y sonidos, según se los lea o indique. Se ve muy graciosa cuando en la narración se nombra a Caperucita y ella se señala a si misma como la niña, también cuando se lee que están tocando la puerta y ella hace lo mismo en la habitación, además hace el aullido del lobo y se pone a correr como si fuera Caperucita.
La niña está contenta con su libro, lo busca diariamente para que se lo leamos. La estimulación ha sido positiva, ella se siente atraía por la dramatización de las escenas, sobre todo, cuando el lobo se hace pasar por la abuela, se queda perpleja escuchando la imitación de las voces.
Alma decide cuáles páginas ver, vuelve al principio una y otra vez, identifica a los personajes y los relaciona con su círculo social cercano, por ejemplo, yo soy la mamá de Caperucita, la abuela es mi mamá, el leñador es mi papá y la protagonista de la historia es ella, tal como señalé anteriormente, al representar a un niña que aparece en todas las páginas.
Queremos que Alma se incliné por los libros y no por las pantallas de teléfonos inteligentes, la tarea no es sencilla porque a su alrededor lo que más observa es a las personas sumergidas en sus aparatos tecnológicos, así que con ella vamos nadando contra la corriente.
