Hola Hivers, espero estén muy bien. Estoy sorprendida de como ha pasado el tiempo volando y siendo que ya esté año se irá y lo deduzco por las celebraciones escolares que a medida que pasan se acorta el ciclo escolar y el año se termina.
En esta ocasión, para no perder la costumbre, mi hijo participó en la celebración de cruz de mayo de su colegio, años anteriores ya había participado, pero jamás había cantado Fulias y décimas (canto folclórico en tono de galerón que se dedica a la cruz). Esta vez lo hizo en un contrapunteo junto con otro compañero de clases.
Cantar era algo nuevo para él y estaba muy nervioso, sumado a que su compañero le dijo que no se sentía preparado para cantar, eso lo debía doblemente nervioso. Yo logré hablar los dos y les dije que confiaba en ellos, que estaba segura, de que lo iba a hacer bien, que vieran el baile de la cruz y que apoyarán a sus otros compañeros que iban a estar presente en el baile.
Con eso se tranquilizaron y vieron la presentación de sus compañeros. Cabe resaltar que la cruz se mayo es una celebración religiosa que se hace para dar gracias por la entrada de la primavera, los frutos y las flores que se dan en esa estación de año, así como la llegada de las lluvias.
Al terminar la subida de la cruz por los siete escalones que hacen, que representa los siete días de la semana, empiezan a dedicar las décimas, y allí mi hijo junto a su compañero lo hicieron muy bien y todo estuvo muy lindo.
Luego se voltea la cruz para bailar joropo, al finalizar se vuelve a poner la cruz de frente y se hace la bajada para terminar con la celebración. Aquí los niños la pasan bien, toman jugo de mango, comen dulces típicos tradicionales como besos de coco y mi esposo y yo fuimos los encargados de presentar el cuajado de pescado que se repartió en la celebración.

In previous years he had already participated, but he had never sung Fulias y décimas (a folkloric song dedicated to the cross). This time he did it in a contrapunteo with another classmate.
Singing was something new for him and he was very nervous, added to the fact that his classmate told him that he didn't feel ready to sing, that made him doubly nervous. I managed to talk to both of them and told them that I trusted them, that I was sure they were going to do well, to watch the cross dance and to support their other classmates who were going to be present at the dance.
With that, they calmed down and watched the presentation of their classmates. It should be noted that the May cross is a religious celebration that is done to give thanks for the arrival of spring, the fruits and flowers that are given in that season of the year, as well as the arrival of the rains.
At the end of the ascent of the cross by the seven steps that represent the seven days of the week, they begin to dedicate the tenths, and there my son and his partner did very well and everything was very nice.
Then they turn the cross upside down to dance the joropo, and at the end they turn the cross upside down and then they go down to end the celebration. Here the children have a good time, they drink mango juice, eat traditional sweets such as coconut kisses and my husband and I were in charge of presenting the fish curds that were distributed at the celebration.
