El reto de ser padres es todos los días del mundo, y no hay mejor rol para mi que ser padres, por nuestros hijos hacemos lo imposible, estos días hemos estado buscando cupo en la Universidad para mi hija, no quedo por opsu así que hay que moverse para poder buscar a tiempo un cupo en la universidad, y esto es ir allí que nos vean tratar de meter los papeles para ver si podemos optar a ese cupo.
Es increíble lo importante que es prevenir la educación de los hijos, yo recuerdo que antes cualquier persona en Venezuela podía estudiar en una universidad privada, y es que eran costosas pero el poder adquisitivo del venezolano era acorde y alcanzaba para eso y mucho más, mis padres no eran ricos y sin embargo pudieron pagarme una universidad privada, hoy en día una persona de posición media no puede, come o paga la universidad.
Esto de verdad logro frustrarme pues lamento en el alma no haber prevenido esto, recordé ver las películas estados unideses donde desde que el niño nace van ahorrando para la universidad de sus hijos, bueno también aquí hay opciones pagas que se pueden hacer, mi hijo estudia aún en un tecnológico y lo podemos pagar es accesible, pero la carrera que mi hija escogió es de las más costosas y la universidad paga que la da ronda casi en los 2000$ un semestre, así que esta no es una opción.
Le dije a mi esposo que no pensamos en eso de la universidad e ir ahorrando para cuando llegará este momento, el igual me dijo algo que me quede pensando y tiene razón, igual la devalúa in se hubiese comido todos los ahorros, así que bueno la mentalidad del venezolano antes no era ahorrar en dólares sino en bolívares que hoy no valen nada, por lo que hubiese sido lo mismo.
Así que como buenos padres la acompañamos a la universidad a hacer lo posible sabiendo y teniendo la fe que Dios hará lo imposible, nos recibieron los papeles al final, mi esposo logró ganarse la confianza de varias personas y nos dijeron que volviéramos el día de las inscripciones de esa carrera, así que no hemos perdido la fe y pronto volveremos a ir para seguir tocando las puertas y los corazones de quienes allí laboran.
La educación es poder y uní sienpre va a querer que sus hijos se formen en algo que puedan valerse por ellos mismos así que seguimos con nuestro rol de padres que nunca termina.

It's incredible how important it is to plan for your children's education. I remember that in the past, anyone in Venezuela could study at a private university. They were expensive, but Venezuelans had the purchasing power to afford it and much more. My parents weren't rich, but they were able to pay for me to go to a private university. Today, someone of average means can't afford to eat and pay for university.
This really frustrates me because I deeply regret not having planned for this. I remember seeing American films where, from the moment a child is born, parents start saving for their children's university education. Well, here too there are paid options available. My son is still studying at a technical college, and we can afford it because it is accessible, but the degree my daughter chose is one of the most expensive, and the university charges almost £2,000 per semester, so this is not an option.
I told my husband that we weren't thinking about university and saving up for when the time comes, and he said something that got me thinking, and he's right: it would have been worthless anyway, as if he had eaten up all our savings. So, the Venezuelan mentality before was not to save in dollars but in bolivars, which are worthless today, so it would have been the same thing.
So, as good parents, we accompanied her to the university to do everything possible, knowing and having faith that God would do the impossible. In the end, our papers were accepted, my husband managed to gain the trust of several people, and we were told to come back on the day of enrolment for that course. So we have not lost faith and will soon return to continue knocking on doors and touching the hearts of those who work there.
Education is power, and you will always want your children to be trained in something that will enable them to fend for themselves, so we continue with our never-ending role as parents.
