Today I found the fleecy milk-cap mushrooms growing on the dead fallen wood. I was a little more fortunate to see them in the morning because if they were exposed to the sun, the caps of their hats would wither dry. Almost all of their caps form a crater-like basin.
By a local who saw me taking pictures said that the mushrooms were edible. I just said yes, but wasn't crazy enough to pluck them up and take them home to cook. Because if their words are wrong, I could be poisoned by them.
The fleecy milk-cap mushroom is one of the species - I hesitate to call name the species for it - in the genus Lactifluus belonging to the Russulaceae family.
