One day a young lady went for a walk in the forest. An elegant hat covered her from the rain. However, she was not afraid of the rain. On the contrary, she remembered the instructions of the mycelium mother about the love of water. And she loved water very much. But no less she loved and warmth.
There was enough water in the forest. If not every day, then every other day, autumn rains came to visit the forest. The moss absorbed moisture like a sponge and was already pretty drunk. Everyone got it. The young lady was not so sure about the warmth. The nights grew colder. The noble neighbors who are so friendly with people's baskets have not shown their hats for a long time.

Воды в лесу хватало. Если не каждый день, то через день осенние дожди приходили в гости к лесу. Мох впитывал влагу как губка и уже был изрядно пьян. Доставалось всем. Насчёт тепла юная леди была не так уверена. Ночи становились всё холоднее. Благородные соседи, которые так дружат с корзинками людей, уже давно не показывали своих шляп.
The smallest of the mushrooms turned out to be the most daring. The lady had her own company for this walk.

This state of affairs did not seem normal to all the inhabitants of the forest.
Не всем обитателям леса такое положение дел казалось нормальным.
Someone was simply sad, others began the road to eternity. But life went on.
Кто-то просто грустил, другие начинали дорогу в вечность. Но жизнь продолжалась.
We will leave the young lady with our friends and go deep into the forest. An unusual find awaited me there: mushrooms, unusual for me, emerged on the old birch wood.

Deciduous tremor (Phaeotremella frondosa), glandular exsidia,
Exidia sugar (Exidia saccharina) or Exidia sugar, trembling sugar, "brown oil of witches". The mushroom was named so not for some culinary and taste characteristics, but for the similarity of the fruit bodies of sugar exidia to pieces of marmalade adhering to the tree trunk, resembling burnt sugar in color.

Дрожалка лиственная (Phaeotremella frondosa), эксидия железистая,
Эксидия сахарная (Exidia saccharina) или Эксидия сахаристая, дрожалка сахарная, "коричневое масло ведьм". Гриб был назван так не за какие-то кулинарно-вкусовые особенности, а за схожесть плодовых тел эксидии сахарной на прилипшие к стволу дерева кусочки мармелада, по цвету напоминающие жженый сахар.

But I walked with all my heart in the autumn forest, enjoyed the silence, fresh air and peace. I was alone in the forest.
Но я от всей души нагулялся по осеннему лесу, насладился тишиной, свежим воздухом и покоем. В лесу я был один.

Дрожалки бывают разные и разных оттенков. Но из маслицем всё одно кличут ведьмянским )
Одна и та же особь, а от почти чёрного/бурова до светлой карамели.
Тут, видимо, возраст, влажность и что-то ещё роль играет. Ну и вид древесины в качестве дома проживания)
Но что дрожалка - железно и желейно, тот ещё студень сопливый)))

Сказочник)) Но грибное царство, действительно, полно тайн и загадок(по крайней мере для меня) И трудно представить наш лес без грибов. Да и в ощущениях тоже. То, что видим на поверхности- лишь макушка того "айсберга", что называют микоризой.
да уж...мицелии невидимы и вот интересно, рядом вплотную растут два совершенно разных гриба. А что под поверхностью земли? Слои, переплетения или как? А может мицелий един для всех и просто любит разнообразие, типа каждому дурачку по своей игрушке ))))

I love this story. Specially your endurance is something i can relate to. Usually from experience it gets much better when we endure. It's almost as if the forest rewards us if we stay longer. Fascinating. The sacrament of witches or witch butter is actually nice in texture and it has polysaccharides. I have been wondering if one can ferment it. Haven't yet started researching about that yet. The mycelium mother almost always tells the child in me to stay and play.
