Another Collection of Older Mushroom and Fungi Pics

Here's a few pictures from our old place in central Arkansas. I especially love the little turkey tails, winding around a twig like a small spiral staircase.

Amanita Caesarea.jpg

A beautiful Amanita sp. I believe they are amanita ceasaria, due to others found in the area that were more red and had the same stipe and gills.

Boletus ornatipes.jpg

Boletus sp.

Omphalotus nidiformis.jpg

I believe this is an omphalotus sp. but as always, I'm open to corrections.

nasty unknown.jpg

I don't know the "official" name for this one, but I've heard them called "false morels" by locals. IMHO these look nothing like a morel, at least the ones I've seen.

polyporous badius.jpg

A little brown (white) mushroom, it was labeled as polyporous in my files, but if you know, you know.

reishi 2.jpg

Ganoderma of some variety, the little fruiting bodies were poking up from a stump buried under the leaves.

Russula sp.jpg

Russula sp. are very common in our area, and the red caps always draw me in.

Trametes versicolor 3.jpg

This was so cool to see, it was only about one inch in diameter.
