fungi lovers - July mushrooms (10 macro foto)

in Fungi Lovers5 years ago (edited)

Hola, setero! Today I share some fresh mushroom impressions I brought from my short trip to ...

2021-aug-8252wH.jpg

Coprinus sp. It actually was the last mushroom I shot on that day -- and its only exhausted battery finished my session with it. Ut was such a lovely curved shape that was not easy to capture, that I was doing double and triple takes forever. (Ended up with 30 shots, in the end).

Very lonely and touchy mushroom... They often pop up in huge families, but this was definitely alone. Maybe he was a scout, micellium have sent forward to find out about the environment, and to ask The Sky about The Big Rain?

Daedaléa quércina is common, unedible and totally useless mushroom -- unless its cap looks very fancy, has a real maze-look. I found this little edition of Daedalea starting to grow on a little branch exactly on the same spot, as last year... (well, plus-minus a few metres).

This is how it looked like from above. Extremely boring! I left said branch there to see the results, what it will be like two months later - in September.

On the same day, at the same place, half an hour earlier ... I find evidence that the rains have not passed without a trace - mushrooms are starting to appear! True, these are not boletuses or chanterelles, alas ... In this case, I found two toadstools. UFO. God knows what it is. I can't quite define it because there are not enough distinguishing features. These mushrooms have cleverly learned to avoid the attention of mushroom pickers, hehe. They know that an experienced mushroom picker will not pick "God knows what." So they hide their distinctive features far away. No definitive ID - and the foray hunter passes by, the mushrooms can breathe calmly and continue maturing their spores further ...

The inner side of the cap. Looked quite spectacular -- for the macro photographer like me, not for the mushroom hunter ofc.

Nice, meaty edition ща Suillus sp. - it ended its days as a potato stew. This is edible mushroom, all of the family relatives are edibles.

One more UFO, intresting for its fancy outlook.

I stitched this image from seven separate frames. (Clickable for hi-res).
below is a cropped close-up version. Isnt he an awesome person?

This is rather under a question for me: I identified it as Tricholoma portentosum (in Russian: 'Рядовка Серая'), but I am not quite sure. This mushroom appears from September to October, and even November - and here I found it in July, strange ... it is possible that this is a different row. There are many species in Russia, and I am not yet familiar with this variety in order to identify the fungus exactly at the species level. Species identification is very important because some rows are edible while others are poisonous. So, Tricholoma saponaceum is inedible and has a strong smell of laundry soap. The partially edible Tricholoma sejunctum has a flesh that has an unpleasant odor. A little more similar in the pictures of Tricholoma terreum ... not here! complete obscurity :)

Until the good mushrooms appear, the photographer still will not be bored - theres no emptiness in nature; for example, you always can find the fruiting body of a perennial tree mushroom for photographing purposes. Some of them are more picturesque, some are less - this Ganoderma sp. looks quite picturesque. I added it to my today's fungi fricasse for a rounded count, and also for amn extra biodivercity. Hope you enjoyed today's visuals.

Ok, that was the last one for today. Now its time to part ways, I wish you good luck -- and Good Hunting! And a little reminder: we have a nice fun challenge at Hive, hold by @EwkaW

#FungiFriday!

I hope many of you will join, as there are only 2 simple rules:

  • when Friday comes, share your fungi with us! post your own, original photo/drawing/art/food/anything-at-all of any type of fungi (yes, stolen images will be checked and reported !)
  • add #fungifriday (not necessarily must be your 1st tag). that's all!

You show me some pretty mushrooms.
I haven't gotten a picture of a mushroom for the past few days that I can post, because I always see the same mushroom from before that I can find.
I will look for it again and want to show it in this beloved community.

The Coprinus sp looks so nice but I guess is toxic in nature.
I like the pics anyways

well, not necessarily! ofc, one should identify the mushroom exactly by its Specie, not by its Genus or Family... but still, Coprinus belong to the same Genus as Champignons, right? and some of them known to be edible and tasty.

anyway - the key point is - this is damn awesome example of mushroom! and.. it was so tiny and 'skinny', that its cooking qualities... were simply out of the question, hehe :)))

Yeah, the size had just removed it from cooking list.
Hahaha
