RE: Weekend walk into the forest: a mushrooms story

in Fungi Lovers4 years ago (edited)

#4 and the last one, probably, are Paxillus involutus, (in Russian Свинушка тонкая), an unedible mushroom that can extract and accumulate toxic stuff from the soil, and restroy the auto-immune reactions of your body, they look meaty and delicios, and always mature in such a nice splendid harvest-looking families..... but better keep away from them! :P

a nice walk you had. cheers!

Thanks for your nice reply! About the last ones, local villagers told me that those mushrooms are not toxic, but they have a very bitter taste, so no one is eating them :D
Now you are confirming my first idea: they are bitter because they are at least a little bit poisonous!

' they are bitter because they are at least a little bit poisonous!' -- well, that is not necessarily at all. bitterness and toxicity is different things! but bitterness and edibility, are the boots that go together well, haha
