I got way too busy yesterday for #fungifriday by @ewkaw but here is a day late dollar short post :-)
Here is an unidentified red velvet mushroom. This was very tiny growing in the grass.
This is what the top looks like. I would say it resembles a mycena species the most but there are many in that family so I have no ID on this specific one.
As I was digging through the archives of my fungi photos I found this cool amber guttation pic. I vaguely remember taking this at night in the forest and the flash picked up the amber color really well. It almost reminds me of Hydnellum peckii but those tend to only have guttation on the top rather than the bottom and their guttation is red. Who knows what this polypore might be.
Here is Agaricus campestris from underneath.
And the same mushroom from the top.
This might be a bicolor bolete aka Baorangia bicolor but you never know there are many boletes around here that have two colors.
Here they are from the top, sadly I found these when they were too old to harvest.
Here is another mycena looking mushroom. Notice the spider hiding behind the stem of the bigger mushroom?
Here they are from the top, the flash actually brought out some of their velvety brown color on top.
Here is a strange pink gilled mushroom. I thought it might be a deer shield mushroom as they have pink gills like this.
From the top deer shield mushrooms are more brown so I'm not sure what this guy is.
Now for a random toad. Poor guys are so easy to catch.
Now for another little Brown Mushroom...
The cap seems to upturn quite a bit. Perhaps it is a type of amanita...
Now for a Russula emetica aka the sickener.
These guys will cause vomiting if eaten but they won't kill you fortunately. So they are best observed for their bright red color but not harvested.
Here is a strange bolete. This is in the Leccinum class because it has a rough stem.
I suspect this one might be edible as it didn't stain when I cut it. I ended up not harvesting it because there was only one and I didn't want to risk a stomach ache.

Guttation looks really cool! I have never managed to shoot it myself.
Yet...
And I really liked the random toad surprise :)
Head out after alot of rain and look for polypores, most will have guttation even really dried out turkeytails sometimes get it. Its somewhat rare to get a color guttation though. But it is really common to get a slow moving toad to catch :-)
Thanks! I will keep that in mind :) Now in the summer season it will be hard to get very rainy days (and toads).
man great photos but my frog is the most sympathetic squeezed and scared ,,, I think she jumped nicely into the wild ;))
The toads have almost no will to escape they practically let you pick them up without any effort the bigger issue is not accidentally stepping on one out in the forest.

Photo mushrooms at night, this gives its own beauty, how do you do it?
These were all just using the flash on my samsung phone, though I did have the camera raw setting on so they could be edited with more file information in photoshop to adjust the lights and darks.
Wow. perfect mix. Agree. sometimes a little need improvement via adobe. I sometimes have bad lighting when shooting subjects.
Yeah bad lighting needs the flash when shooting with a cell phone. But then you get the weird flash look to the photos. Still better than getting a dark blurry photo.
Right. I don't know much light settings. So that many of the images get noise.
