Love the complex patterns of the first two pics. And of course the chipmunk house is adorable. Since we started foraging some last fall, my interest in mushrooms quickly exceeded my knowledge. Do turkeytails live through the winter and start growing again in spring? Or is the growth from last year just strong enough to survive the ice and snow so it hangs around then different, new mushrooms grow in the spring?

Turkeytail lasts quite a few years they grow slowly over time. I usually harvest only the fresh looking ones not the pale colorless ones or the ones with algae all over them. I went out looking for dryad's saddle and morels but I didn't see any this time, hopefully I didn't miss them again this year.
