Old puffballs

Puffball (Lycoperdon perlatum) is an edible mushroom while it is young. When these mushrooms are as old as in my photos, they are no longer fit for human consumption. The specimens in my photos are dark brown. And young mushrooms have a much lighter surface, they are almost white, with a yellowish-brown tinge. However, most importantly, if you break them in half, the fracture site should be white, I would even say snow-white	Дощовик справжній (Lycoperdon perlatum) є їстівним грибом доки він молодий. Коли ці гриби такі старі, як на моїх фото, то вони вже непридатні до вживання в їжу. Екземпляри, зображені на моїх світлинах, є темно-коричневими. А молоді гриби мають набагато світлішу поверхню, вони майже білі, із жовтувато-коричневим відтінком. Проте, що найголовніше, якщо їх розламати навпіл, то місце зламу повинно бути білим, я б навіть сказав, білосніжним.

Дощовик справжній (Lycoperdon perlatum) є їстівним грибом доки він молодий. Коли ці гриби такі старі, як на моїх фото, то вони вже непридатні до вживання в їжу. Екземпляри, зображені на моїх світлинах, є темно-коричневими. А молоді гриби мають набагато світлішу поверхню, вони майже білі, із жовтувато-коричневим відтінком. Проте, що найголовніше, якщо їх розламати навпіл, то місце зламу повинно бути білим, я б навіть сказав, білосніжним.

All these photos I took during my last hike in the woods with friends. At that time the forest was very dry and all the mushrooms we came across were very old and dried.	Всі ці фотографії я зробив під час свого останнього походу до лісу разом з друзями. Тоді в лісі було дуже сухо і всі гриби, які нам траплялися, були дуже старими та засушеними.

This is all because when you step on an old mushroom of this species, a whole cloud of tiny spores, resembling smoke after being fired from a cannon, will burst into the air from a hole in the surface of the mushroom. I tried to photograph this moment, stepping on a mushroom. In part, I succeeded. In the photo below you can see a light powder cloud after the "shot" of the mushroom.	У нашому регіоні дощовики називають порхавками. Це все тому, що коли ви наступити не старий гриб цього виду, то в повітря з отвору у поверхні гриба випорснуться ціла хмара дрібнесенький спор, схожих на дим після пострілу з гармати. Я намагався сфотографувати цей момент, наступивши на гриб. Частково мені це вдалося. На фото внизу ви можете побачити легку порохову хмарку після "пострілу" гриба.
