Hello Canadians

Just thought I'd drop a note here and suggest that fellow Canadians could introduce themselves here in the community. You can also share your posts here and these days.. talk about how you're faring through Covid Times.

Sort:
BC Night Shift Nurse here, sort of. Tired, exhausted. The big boss announced that all Vacations booked and requested are cancelled until further notice due to a Nursing shortage. Lots of overtime available but I’d rather have the time off. As if being the only Team Member with a Certification in Respiratory and Ventilator equipment somehow makes me NOT subject to Covid-17,18 or 19. Dodged a few bullets already.

She said, "BTW, Please take all the masks, gloves and hand sanitizer you need, can’t afford you getting sick.” Looks like a long Summer. Have to tough it out. Duty calls!

Thank you for all you do. I have family in BC, Campbell River .. don't want you to meet them while doing your job.

Feel free to crosspost (using peakd.com is easiest) your posts into the community or just post them directly. Encourage fellow Canadians to join in so we can get to know each other and support each other.

I'm just getting to learn how to use the peakd.com front end platform. But I can't write much as I just need rest. I am mentally and physically exhausted with the demands of my offline life and it's hard enough for me to find the time to post content even before this pandemic. I appreciate the thoughts. Have to rest when I can.

Wow, please know how much we all appreciate the risk and sacrifice you are taking to take care of our loved ones. Great post btw!

It's impossible for me to post daily.
And writing doesn't come easy for me either.
I've already got a busy offline life and it's hard enough for me to find the time to post content even before this pandemic. I appreciate the thoughts. Have to rest when I can.

Hey, @jasonbu here... hanging out in my basement lab (computer lab) coding analytics, bots and other fun stuff, binging Netflix. Family is all good, boys are remote schooling (two through University, one in high school.) I'm working from home, socially isolating and waiting for the call...

...bags are packed staying gtg.

Until then, I'll be posting and interacting as much as I can. Hella proud Canadian 🇨🇦, I'll be sharing in the Community here. Thanks for setting it up @shadowspub!

Great to see you here @jasonbu and that you're doing well. Odds are you will be called out but I'm hoping the preparation is going to be an exercise more than need.

I heard that in places people were gathering over Easter weekend to have family and friends over for the holiday. So, I guess we may end up seeing a bit of a surge in a week to ten days. People need to listen and not think it doesn't matter to them.

Always glad to support a fellow Canuck and other Canucks! 😀 I'll be popping in here often to wave the flag.

Yes, that's what I fear as well. It's crazy that people just don't seem to understand. Hopefully, we can flatten this curve but I'm not overly optimistic give the human behaviour I've seen. However, the vast majority of people are abiding, it's the few that will keep the rest of us in isolation. But there is hope...

the good part is that we do have more compliance and consistency across the country than our neighbours to the south. Although the bad part of that is the potential overflow into Canada moving forward.

Yes, much better but the herculean hot spot is ring next door - below us... gulp. I feel for all those caught up in it in NY.

This seems odd posting on my own post but what the heck.. it's mine.

I'm in eastern Ontario, about midway between Toronto and Kingston.

I normally do my writing from home so the whole idea of working from home works for me as does the self-isolation as I live with a couple of cats. Yes, I will not be crazy cat lady in my dotage. I 'm told crazy starts after 3 cats. It certainly would in this house, it's not very big.

What is going to be a bit difficult for me is because I am high risk -- over 60, weak lungs and one kidney -- it means I'll be staying home for the duration. Instead of my usual independent, fend for myself activities, I'll need to ask others to do things like shopping.

I'm fortunate as there are people offering to pick things up for me.

The upside, with no volunteer committee meetings to attend, my attention will be more on doing more writing. Who knows, might make a dollar or two more LOL.
