IS ACKNOWLEDGEMENT BAD?

Currently , I have been going through a lot and dissociating. I feel lost and isolated . I just celebrated my birthday yesterday and had only my family to wish me . I'm I being desperate wanting others to wish me and being acknowledge .It feels like I'm always being used , I give out everything to those who call me as their friends and never receive that help in return. What should I do I just want to be acknowledged sometimes? It seems I'm losing myself to become what everyone expects me to become.My real self also wants that acknowledgement.
