I was at the hospital today and it was so chaotic I even almost went back home, but changed my mind after consider the distance I’d have to travel if I want to set up another appointment. The Nigerian Army hospital is one of the best in my state so it is not a surprise that there were a lot of us there today.
Image of the money my son tore a few weeks ago, I think it fits my topic. Lol
Unfortunately for me, i went late, i was supposed to be at the hospital by 8a.m but because I had slept so late the previous night, I woke up a few minutes to 8 and like I said, the hospital is far. Anyways, I still made it in good time to be booked to see a doctor. That’s when the dramas began to unfold. Firsy this guy (lets call him white shirt) keeps yelling at the nurses that he was the second person at the clinic and he has his number card to prove it. He should see the doctor immediately! That was at the nurses stand and his vitals were not even checked yet. I had to explain to him that the number card will only be useful when its time to see the doctor. It workded and White Shirt kept quite.
Soon we were waiting to see the doctors and unfortunately again, only two showed up to see over 60 patients. In fact one doctor said she would see only 20 patients and the rest of us should teturn next week. I dont know how it happened but we eventually got to see a doctor. I should remind you that it is a military hospital so there are soldiers everywhere. White shirt guy started to create a scene again and then a soldier walks up to him and requests his number card. He said he misplaced it but his number is 2. The soldier immediately got upset and told him they do not have number 1-10 in the number card so how did he get 2. He was so furious because the guy was making a scene out of a lie just so he can see the doctor early.
Thats one story, another story is of a military man that cane to ask for a favor from the doctor to help him write a report of ptsd so he can go back home to his family which he has left for 6 years. Unknown to him, the doctor is also a military personnel so she asked for something( can’t remember what) to prove his posting 6 years ago. Thats when the truth began to come out. It seemed he was not posted 6 years ago. He just wanted to go home.
I have been giving many of the incidents at the hospital today some thought and I realized that patience is indeed. Virtue. Life has many similar waiting moments and trying terrible things to help you get things done faster isn’t right. I don’t cut corners on a queue or lie to get out of a situation. However, there are so many things I seem to be in a hurry for and I am grateful for everything I witnessed today.

Is the money torn because of the person depicted on it? I'm not up to date.
We don't appreciate our health till it's gone. I also have the utmost respect for doctors and nurses who are not making a fortune in the private sector but dedicate their time and expertise to those who really need it. Our public health system is far from perfect, but once you get going. The care us really excellent. You just have to be prepared to wait
