This week that has already ended I was a stressed day because the hard drive of my pc gave some problems and as I was, besides being worried and upset I decided to do an activity that usually entertains me and that is to watch series, so among so many that Netflix usually offers I decided to watch The Alienist, a series that did not call much my attention until I saw the trailer that they share with us, so that we have an idea that we are about to consume.
I must formally begin by pointing out that I don't really like to watch series on air, since one is always left with the doubt of what else will happen and many times these series are suspended and one is left with the doubt, but this one caught me.
On the other hand, the time in which it is set is the late nineteenth century early twentieth century, the plot I loved and its actors from my opinion do very well, the beginning is something acid and strong, as a policeman on his night patrol in New York City found in the street a hand in the snow and paralyzed to look for the body that belongs, his face is splashed with blood and sees on top of a bridge under construction a body.
This is the beginning of this series, which is characterized by mystery, suspense, drama and raw moments, at a time when there were many taboos, poverty in New York and a time when it was filled with immigrants from various countries which forced many of them to survive in ways that still exist today, but at that time although they were judged, I make all this introduction, because the theme of the first season focuses on the murders of children mainly child prostitutes and children who dress as women, what we might now call transformers, this series shows how a serial killer gives home to these children and murders them brutally.
In addition, the series shows us a group of people who come together to find this murderer and at the same time must confront their ghosts, among the cast we have as main actors Daniel Brühl as Dr. Laszlo Kreizler, Dakota Fanning as Sara Howard, Luke Evans as John Moore, who give excellent performances, but I must admit that at first I didn't recognize Dakota, since she looks so simple with the little makeup given to her character and more when the last time I remember her acting she was a very well made up vampire in the Twilight saga.
On the other hand, as for the actor who plays Dr. Laszlo Kreizler, Daniel Brühl plays a very good role, as it really is really irritating and impertinent at times, without leaving behind or forgetting the handsome Luke Evans, which I think not only exploit their quality as an actor but his attractiveness which is part of his character.
Added to the above, and equally important is the costumes which is fully adapted to the time and the scenery as well, showing how was the city of New York at that time, this series, in addition to showing the marked difference between rich and poor and how the police department is totally corrupt and do not accept the change you want to bring their new boss and less accept the first woman in the department who is Sara Howard, remember that at that time women are very discriminated against in society.
But, what was an alienist at that time, in the 19th century, it was believed that people with mental disorders, were alienated from their nature and the experts who studied these so-called disorders, were called Alienists.
Therefore, this series in its two seasons shows us how some already ventured to venture into deduction, evidence and the behavior of suspects in addition to more modern forensic techniques, but not accepted by many for resistance to change, besides giving us moments of real suspense and surprises in each chapter, in the search for the murderers, which leads me to mention that its second season, focuses on finding the baby of a diplomat who has been secreted which makes them discover another series of murders and another disturbed mind by abuse.
Finally, not to extend more, this series is based on the novel of the same name by author Caleb Carr, which is surely very interesting, so if you are someone who enjoys watching period series, mystery, drama and raw, this series is for you, believe me you will not regret it, to my tube me two or three days glued to the screen, now I say goodbye until a next publication a big hug and if you want you can leave me a comment.
Esta semana que ya termino estuve un día estresada ya que el disco duro de mi pc dio unos problemas y como estaba, además de preocupada molesta decidí realizar una actividad que suele entretenerme y es ver series, así entre tantas que Netflix suele ofrecernos me decidí por The Alienist, una serie que no llamaba mucho mi atención hasta que vi el tráiler que nos comparten, para que tengamos una idea que estamos por consumir.
Debo comenzar formalmente señalando que no me gusta mucho ver series en emisión, ya que uno siempre queda con la duda de que mas sucederá y muchas veces estas series son suspendidas y uno se queda con la duda, pero esta me atrapo.
Por otro lado, la época en la que ambienta es finales del siglo XIX comienzos de XX, la trama me encanto y sus actores desde mi opinión lo hacen muy bien, el comienzo es algo acido y fuerte, pues un policía en su ronda nocturna en la Ciudad de Nueva York encuentra en la calle una mano en la nieve y al paralizarse para buscar el cuerpo al que pertenece, su cara se ve salpicada por sangre y ve en lo alto de un puente en construcción un cuerpo.
De esta manera, es el comienzo esta serie, que se caracteriza por el misterio, suspenso, drama y de momentos crudos, en una época donde había muchos tabús, pobreza en Nueva York y una época en la que se llenó de inmigrantes de diversos países lo que obligo a muchos de ellos a sobrevivir de maneras que todavía hoy existen, pero en ese momento aunque eran juzgadas, eran mas toleradas por algunas autoridades, toda esta introducción la hago, ya que el tema de su primera temporada se centra en los asesinatos de niños principalmente niños prostituidos y que se visten como mujeres, lo que actualmente podríamos llamar transformistas, esta serie muestra como un asesino serial da casa a estos niños y los asesina de manera brutal.
Además, serie nos muestra a un grupo de personas que se reúnen para encontrar a este asesino y al mismo tiempo deben confrontar, sus fantasmas, entre el elenco tenemos como actores principales a Daniel Brühl como el doctor Laszlo Kreizler, Dakota Fanning como Sara Howard, Luke Evans como John Moore, quienes realizan excelentes actuaciones, pero debo reconocer que en un primer momento no reconocí a Dakota, ya que se ve tan simple con el poco maquillaje que le dan su personaje y mas cuando la ultima vez que la recuerdo actuando era una vampira muy bien maquillada en la saga de Crepúsculo.
Por otra parte, en cuanto al actor que interpreta al doctor Laszlo Kreizler, Daniel Brühl hace un muy buen papel, pues de verdad resulta realmente irritante e impertinente, en algunos momentos, sin dejar atrás ni olvidar del guapo Luke Evans, del cual creo no solo explotan su calidad como actor sino su atractivo lo cual forma parte de su personaje.
Agregado a lo anterior, e igual de importante es el vestuario el cual se adapta totalmente a la época y la escenografía igual, mostrando como era la ciudad de Nueva York en ese momento, esta serie; además de mostrar la marcada diferencia entre ricos y pobres y como el departamento de policía está totalmente corrupto y no aceptan el cambio que desea traer su nuevo jefe y menos aceptar a la primera mujer en el departamento quien es Sara Howard, recordemos que en ese momento las mujeres están muy discriminadas dentro de la sociedad.
Pero, ¿Qué era un alienista en esa época en esa época?, en el siglo XIX, se creía que las personas con desórdenes mentales, estaban alienadas de su naturaleza y a los expertos que estudiaban estos llamados desordenes, se les llamaba Alienistas.
Por consiguiente, esta serie en sus dos temporadas nos muestra como ya algunos se aventuraban a ir incursionando en deducción, pruebas y el comportamiento de los sospechoso además de técnicas forenses más modernas, pero no aceptadas por muchos por resistencia al cambio, además de brindarnos momentos de verdadero suspenso y sorpresas en cada capítulo, en la búsqueda los asesinos, lo que me lleva a mencionar que su segunda temporada, se centra de encontrar al bebé de un diplomático que ha sido secretado lo cual les hace descubrir otra serie de asesinatos y otra mente trastornada por abusos.
Finalmente, para no extenderme más, esta serie está basada en la novela del mismo nombre del autor Caleb Carr, que seguramente es muy interesante, así que si eres de los que disfruta viendo series de época, misterio, drama y crudas, esta serie es para ti, créeme que no te arrepentirás, a mi me tubo dos o tres días pegada a la pantalla, ahora me despido hasta una próxima publicación un gran abrazo y si lo deseas puedes dejarme un comentario.
Que interesante propuesta amiga, me llama mucho la atención, además de que esas ambientaciones a mi me encantan así que solo por eso sé que disfrutaría la serie.
Jaja desde crepúsculo? Naguará si tenías mucho tiempo sin ver a Dakota entonces, si Dakota se ha convertido en toda una dama ya adulta y una excelente actriz desde pequeña, aún la recuerdo de la serie Taken cuando fue la primera vez que la vi y debe haber tenido unos 6 u 8 añitos ahí, ella y su hermana son verdaderamente maravillosas.
A Bluhl lo conocí en Bastardos sin Gloria, y ese personaje si que fue irritable e insoportable y lo hacía excelente, así que de seguro este también lo hace igual porque según lo que describes se parece bastante, y bueno a Evans si lo hemos visto en muchisimas películas y sabemos que es un excelente actor y además es un espectáculo de ver.
Quiero ver la serie, pero soy como tú odio ver series en emisión porque luego nos pasa eso, nos la cancelan y quedamos en depresión,🥺 pero yo creo que me voy a arriesgar con esta. Me gusta el reparto y la trama que cuentas es interesante.

Muchas gracias por este grandioso comentario, lo que he desfrutado es que en cada temporada hay un tema diferente y se cierra, claro uno queda con ganas de mas, pero ya hay un capitulo cerrado, esperemos a ver que trae la tercera temporada y sí Daniel Brühl. logra dar ese toque al personaje que interpreta y realmente a veces golpearlo porque raya hasta en falta de tacto y delicadeza , se hace insoportable, insufrible.

I did not want to make reference to the famous detective Sherlock, to see if someone would name him, the detective movies of today are not to my liking, only the crime scene series, although they focus on forensics.
