Cruella de Vil, Cruella de Vil... we first knew her as the villain of '101 Dalmatians' but now Disney have decided to show us a new side of this peculiar character with the new film "Cruella". Did you ever wonder how Cruella de Vil became evil enough to want to kill little puppies for fashion? well the bad news is that this movie doesn't answer that question. In fact it takes a different approach to the character that we are used to see.
Cruella de Vil, Cruella de Vil... la conocimos por primera vez como la villana de '101 Dálmatas' pero ahora Disney ha decidido mostrarnos una nueva faceta de este peculiar personaje con la nueva película "Cruella". ¿Te has preguntado alguna vez cómo Cruella de Vil llegó a ser tan malvada como para querer matar a pequeños cachorros por moda? pues la mala noticia es que esta película no responde a esa pregunta. De hecho, adopta un enfoque diferente del personaje al que estamos acostumbrados a ver.

The film takes us all the way back to the childhood of Estella, a rebellious young lady who ends up in the streets after the tragic death of her mother, and soon finds new friends, Jasper and Horace. They manage to survive by robbing and scamming people although they're amazing at it, the dream of Stella has always been becoming a fashion designer.
La película nos traslada a la infancia de Estella, una joven rebelde que acaba en la calle tras la trágica muerte de su madre, y que pronto encuentra nuevos amigos, Jasper y Horace. Se las arreglan para sobrevivir robando y estafando a la gente, aunque son increíbles en ello, el sueño de Estella siempre ha sido convertirse en diseñadora de moda.

Her big opportunity appears thanks to an incident at work where Stella got drunk and created and exhibition without the approval of his boss, but minutes before getting fired the Baroness, one of the top designers of London who also gives Miranda Priestly's vibes (except for the sociopath part, well Miranda may be a little sociopath herself, so nevermind) hire her after taking a glimpse of her job, making her one step closer to fulfill her lifetime dream.
Su gran oportunidad aparece gracias a un incidente en el trabajo en el que Stella se emborrachó y creó una exposición sin la aprobación de su jefe, pero minutos antes de ser despedida, la Baronesa, una de las mejores diseñadoras de Londres que me recuerda a Miranda Priestly (excepto por la parte de sociópata, bueno Miranda puede ser un poco sociópata también, así que olvídenlo) la contrata después de echar un vistazo a su trabajo, haciendo que esté un paso más cerca de cumplir el sueño de su vida.

Cuando empieza a trabajar para la Baronesa, Stella se da cuenta de que es una mujer horrible gobernada por la avaricia, capaz de todo (incluso de matar) con tal de proteger su estatus y su fortuna, por lo que decide despertar del largo sueño a su alter ego, Cruella, para buscar venganza y destruir la carrera de su némesis, utilizando su sentido vanguardista de la moda y su innegable personalidad descarada.

Personally i enjoyed this live action, it wasn't bad but I expected something more or maybe a darker plot, but then i remembered it's meant for kids too so it should be tone down, Emma Stone's performance is outstanding as always, i believe she portrayed role in a splendid way and of course Emma Tompsong was amazing too. It's not a masterpiece however it's pretty entertaining. The soundtrack was excellent too from Florence + The Machines, to Blondie all the songs were on point. The costume, set and makeup designs are also a plus.
Personalmente disfruté de este live action, no estuvo mal pero esperaba algo más o tal vez una trama más oscura, pero luego recordé que está destinado a los niños también por lo que debe ser amigable para todo tipo de audiencia. La actuación de Emma Stone es excepcional como siempre, creo que retrató el papel de una manera espléndida y por supuesto Emma Tompsong fue increíble también. No es una obra maestra pero es bastante entretenida. La banda sonora era excelente, desde Florence + The Machines hasta Blondie, todas las canciones encajaban perfectamente. Los diseños de vestuario, escenografía y maquillaje también son un plus.

In conclusion, I recommend this movie, i think it's worth watching, it's the Disney live action movie I never knew I needed, a fun ride full of surprises.
En conclusión recomiendo esta película, creo que vale la pena verla, es el live action de Disney que no sabía que necesitaba, un viaje divertido y lleno de sorpresas.
