There are people in the world who are brilliant, they have exceptional gifts that are to be envied, they are unique talents that are born from their being without even having hours of practice or reading to harvest them. This was the case with the young prodigy Beth Harmon, an orphan girl who developed a great talent for playing chess.

Like all young people, she lost concentration due to intrusive thoughts, and since she was around the time of her 50s, in this institution they gave the children some pills to calm anxiety, these medications created an addiction in the youngsters, Beth did not escape this and to concentrate on his dream chess games he would take one of these pills to have more focus.
Beth no tuvo una infancia normal, que compone un hogar estable con padres que están las 24 horas del día pendientes de sus hijos. Su infancia transcurrió en un orfanato, a pesar de no sufrir maltratos el hecho de padecer el abandono desde temprana edad es un fuerte daño psicológico al cual se enfrenta una persona. Un día el conserje la observó y la invitó a participar, para su sorpresa la niña era un genio, este amoroso hombre al ver el interés en ella le enseñó mucho más acerca del ajedrez.
La joven prodigio se interesó tanto en este juego de tablero que, en las noches soñaba como solucionar partidas ficticias. Como todo joven, se desconcentraba por pensamientos intrusivos, y como rondaba la época de los 50’ en esta institución les daban a los niños unas pastillas para calmar la ansiedad, estos medicamentos creaban una adicción en los jovencitos, Beth no se escapó de esto y para concentrarse en las partidas de sus sueños de ajedrez tomaba una de estas píldoras para tener más atención.
Soon she was adopted, the truth is that it was not a home full of happiness, however, her new parents provided her with economic and, in a certain way, mental stability, due to the fact that she felt protected by two adults. Beth, she knew that she was very good at chess so she looked for a way to enter competitions of this game and to her joy and satisfaction she managed to win them all. This brought him fame and renown, it was an exceptional achievement because his rivals were always men, let's remember that at this time machismo and gender inequality led, this game was dominated by men who valued little the effort of a woman and always sought to mock of his "little intellect".

Lady's Gambit addresses issues of personal improvement and perseverance in a world so competitive that sometimes it makes us stagnate for thinking that we are not enough to succeed, also shows how she was able to fight with her own thoughts and overcome all those demons that They had mired in vices and dependencies.

Gambito de Dama aborda temas de superación personal y perseverancia en un mundo tan competitivo que en ocasiones hace que nos estanquemos por pensar que no somos lo suficiente para triunfar, además deja ver como ella pudo luchar con sus propios pensamientos y vencer todos esos demonios que la tenían sumida en vicios y dependencias.
