The charm of movies is that there are so many, hundreds of thousands, a catalog so vast that it would be impossible to see them all in one lifetime, perhaps not even in two or three lifetimes. So much variety is overwhelming, with endless resources and techniques that different films use to create unique experiences.
I am not very knowledgeable to be honest, I am not the type of person who knows every director who has ever been in command of the production of a recognized or cult film, I barely identify and remember the names of a handful of actors and actresses of the industry, as well as seiyuus (name given to voice actors in Japan), so I do not consider myself a movie buff person, however I have had the pleasure of enjoying several films throughout my life of which I would like talk here, the way I will today.
It is not a production with real actors or anything like that, but an animated film in this case, as I already put in the title, I am referring to Paprika, a film released there in 2006.
The protagonist of the film is Dr. Atsuko Chiba, a psychiatrist who uses her alter-ego, Paprika, to treat people through the DC Mini, and precisely at the beginning you can see how she is treating Toshimi Konakawa, an police officer with a dream that produces enormous anxiety to himself.
The DC Mini itself is a very small device, to use it you just have to put it on your head, so it is very easy to transport, this is as good as bad, since three prototypes are stolen, and the damage that this causes can noticed throughout the movie. Some of the employees working in the DC Mini end up living a collective dream, in which a strange parade is taking place, where electrical appliances, frogs, dolls and many other things, accompany an emperor while they go to "somewhere".
Those people who stole the DC Mini prototypes are apparently inserting dreams into people's minds, making it very difficult to differentiate reality from dreams. Due to this, Dr. Chiba along with her work team must investigate who is the cause behind said “terrorism”.
Like any story where the subject of dreams is dealt with, don't expect anything that at first glance has some logical explanation, and that is why the film is interesting because at no time is it predictable. I also highlight the animation of it, as it is quite good and this is quite noticeable, giving a lot of life and personality to everything that appears throughout its approximate hour and a half of duration.
And we must not leave out the soundtrack, which is very remarkable, personally I really like the opening theme, I leave it here for you. ^^
From here I cannot do more than recommend the film, because due to its short duration compared to the average that is usually two hours. And with this I say goodbye, greetings to all and see you later. ^^/

El encanto de las películas, es que hay muchísimas, cientos de miles, un catálogo tan amplio que sería imposible verlas todas en una vida, tal vez ni siquiera en dos o tres vidas. Tanta variedad resulta abrumadora, con un sinfín de recursos y técnicas que diferentes películas utilizan para crear experiencias únicas.
No soy muy conocedora siendo totalmente honesta, no soy el tipo de persona que conoce a cada director que alguna vez haya estado al mando de la producción de una película reconocida o de culto, apenas identifico y recuerdo los nombres de un puñado de actores y actrices de la industria, así como de seiyuus (nombre dado a actores de voz en Japón), así que no me considero una persona cinéfila, sin embargo he tenido el placer de disfrutar de varias películas a lo largo de mi vida de las cuales me gustaría hablar acá, de la forma que haré hoy.
No se trata de una producción con actores reales ni nada por el estilo, sino de una película animada en este caso, como ya puse en el título, me refiero a Paprika, una película estrenada por allá en el año 2006.
La protagonista de la película es la doctora Atsuko Chiba, una psiquiatra que utiliza a su alter-ego, Paprika, para tratar a las personas a través del DC Mini, y precisamente al inicio se puede ver como está tratando a Toshimi Konakawa, un oficial de policía con un sueño que le produce una enorme ansiedad.
El DC Mini en sí es un dispositivo muy pequeño, para utilizarlo basta con ponérselo en la cabeza, por lo que es de muy fácil transporte, esto es algo tan bueno como malo, pues tres prototipos son robados, y el daño que esto causa puede notarse a lo largo de la película. Algunos de los empleados trabajando en el DC Mini terminan viviendo un sueño colectivo, en el cual está ocurriendo un desfile de lo más extraño, donde electrodomésticos, ranas, muñecas y muchas otras cosas, acompañan a un emperador mientras se dirigen a “algún lugar”.
Aquellas personas que robaron los prototipos del DC Mini aparentemente están insertando sueños en las mentes de las personas, causando que sea muy difícil diferenciar la realidad de los sueños. Debido a esto, la Dra. Chiba junto a su equipo de trabajo deberán investigar quién es el causante detrás de dicho “terrorismo”.
Como cualquier historia donde se trata el tema de los sueños, no esperen nada que a primera vista tenga alguna explicación lógica, y es por esto que la película resulta interesante pues en ningún momento se hace predecible. Destaco también la animación de la misma, pues es bastante buena y esto es bastante notorio, dándole mucha vida y personalidad a todo lo que aparece a lo largo de su aproximada hora y media de duración.
Y no hay que dejar por fuera a la banda sonora, la cual es muy destacable, personalmente me gusta muchísimo el tema de apertura, aquí mismo se los dejo. ^^
Ya desde aquí no puedo hacer más que recomendarles la película, pues debido a su corta duración comparada a la media que suele ser de dos horas. Y con esto me despido, un saludo a todos y hasta luego. ^^/
