Creo que nunca había estado tan decepcionada con una adaptación como lo estoy con "The idea of you", tenían una premisa para película que funcionaba increíble SIN tomar tanto del libro y la ejecución fue terrible, y si la comparamos con el libro pues, honestamente la cosa se pone peor, es una tristeza que hayan sabido aprovechar una pareja tan talentosa de protagonistas.
I don't think I've ever been as disappointed with an adaptation as I am with "The idea of you", they had a premise for a movie that worked amazing WITHOUT taking so much from the book and the execution was terrible, and if we compare it to the book, honestly it gets worse, it's a shame they didn't know how to take advantage of such a talented couple of protagonists.
Sino tienes idea de que va la onda y porque mi rant te cuento de que va la historia: Una señora al llevar a su hija a una firma de autógrafos de su banda favorita llama la atención de uno de los band boys y este se decide a buscarla para intentar algo con ella, al principio ella lo rechaza pero luego comienza una historia de amor llena muchísimas emociones, viajes, sacrificios y mucha seducción, esto es basado en un libro de un nombre homónimo Robinne Lee aquí puedes leer una reseña que hice del mismo.
Ahora bien, donde estuvo la falla en todo esto y porque tanta decepción: se tomaron libertades creativas en detrimento de la protagonista que terminaron haciéndola ver como una tonta, que no se interesa por su familia y su negocio. Al acortar parte del plot de quién es Solené y todo lo que la rodea la historia se limita a ser simplemente algo carnal, vacío y banal, muy lejos de la historia original. No vemos todas las dudas y sacrificios a los que se enfrenta Solené al momento de pasar por la relación con Haynes, ni tampoco disfrutamos de la química no-sexual que estos comparten.

Now, where was the flaw in all this and why so much disappointment: they took creative liberties to the detriment of the protagonist that ended up making her look like a fool, who doesn't care about her family and her business. By shortening part of the plot of who Solené is and all that surrounds her, the story is limited to being simply something carnal, empty and banal, far from the original story. We don't see all the doubts and sacrifices Solené faces as she goes through the relationship with Haynes, nor do we enjoy the non-sexual chemistry they share.
La película le dedica muchísimo tiempo a llegar al punto en que Solené y Hayes se conocen básicamente para nada, en el libro esto pasa de manera súper efímera, todo lo que importa es lo que viene después. Tambien dejaron de lado mucho del trasfondo de la vida de Hayes y porque le gustan las mujeres mayores o sus inseguridades por ser de una boy band, otra cosa importante es el apoyo que recibe Solené de los integrantes de la banda, básicamente no vimos nada de eso, realmente esta adaptación debió ser una serie porque había mucha tela que cortar, porque está relación se da cuando los chicos están de gira mundial, cosa que sería increíble de ver en pantalla.
Y bueno, LE CAMBIARON EL FINAL AL LIBRO, esto es lo que más odie. Amé el libro por tener un final agridulce y está gente viene y hace cualquier cosa con el final, es que de verdad no parece una adaptación de Prime Video, tan bien que nos había ido con "Rojo, blanco y sangre azul", esto fue la gota que derramo el vaso para que la película no me gustara.
The movie spends a lot of time getting to the point where Solené and Hayes meet basically for nothing, in the book this happens in a very ephemeral way, all that matters is what comes after. They also left out a lot of the background of Hayes' life and why he likes older women or his insecurities about being in a boy band, another important thing is the support that Solené receives from the band members, basically we didn't see any of that, really this adaptation should have been a series because there was a lot to cut, because this relationship happens when the boys are on a world tour, something that would be amazing to see on screen.
And well, THEY CHANGED THE ENDING OF THE BOOK, this is what I hated the most. I loved the book for having a bittersweet ending and these people come and do anything with the ending, it really doesn't seem like a Prime Video adaptation, so well we had done with "Red, White and Blue Blood", this was the straw that broke the camel's back for me to dislike the movie.

Debo reconocer que no todo fue malo, el hecho de que hicieran a Hayes mayor le quita bastante hierro al asunto y lo mismo con Isabelle, el tema de las noticias y toda la narrativa de la relación de Hayes y Solené es demasiado fuerte para una niña pequeña como vemos en el libro, en ese sentido, entiendo el cambio.
Y por último, debo decir que el casting estuvo muy bien hecho, Nicholas y Anne tienen muy buena química y eso se transmite en la pantalla.
La película es buena si no tienes idea del libro, si leíste el libro honestamente no recomiendo verla. Esto es todo por hoy, gracias por llegar hasta aquí ¡Adiós!
I must admit that not everything was bad, the fact that they made Hayes older takes away quite a bit of iron and the same with Isabelle, the news theme and the whole narrative of Hayes and Solené's relationship is too strong for a little girl as we see in the book, in that sense, I understand the change.
And lastly, I must say that the casting was very well done, Nicholas and Anne have very good chemistry and that comes across on screen.
