I am of the belief that you need to know history to understand the present and somehow predict what is going to happen, you must know history. I really like history and especially this part of history that I consider shaped the modern world as it is today. This compilation of films to understand the SGM are the ones that I consider the most entertaining and that most people may like, without a doubt there are other very good films but not everyone may like them.
Soy de la creencia de que se necesita conocer la historia para entender en presente y de alguna forma predecir lo que va a pasar, me gusta mucho la historia y sobre todo esta parte de la historia que considero forjo el mundo moderno como lo es hoy en día. Esta recopilación de películas para entender la SGM son las que considero más entretenidas y que a la mayoría de personas le puede gustar, sin dudas hay otras películas muy buenas pero que no a todos le pueden gustar.
The Pianist - El pianista
A masterpiece by Román Polanski based on true events recounts the life of Władysław Szpilman, a Polish pianist who lives with his Jewish family in Warsaw. The film is located in September 1939 when Hitler begins his offensive against Poland, it shows the hope of the Poles knowing that they were not alone, that England and France had declared war on Germany and that the war would be resolved soon, however, this did not happen and the German forces crushed the Polish army in a matter of 3 weeks and a year later the British expeditionary force and the French army. The film takes place throughout the war and shows us the life of a Polish Jew seeing how his family and his environment disintegrate little by little, in view of the so-called final solution to the Jewish question.
Una obra maestra de Román Polanski basada en hechos reales relata la vida de Władysław Szpilman un pianista polaco que vive con su familia judía en Varsovia. La película esta situada en septiembre de 1939 cuando Hitler inicia su ofensiva contra Polonia, en ella se observa la esperanza de los polacos al saber que no estaban solos, que Inglaterra y Francia habían declarado la guerra a Alemania y que la guerra se resolvería pronto, sin embargo, esto no sucedió así y las fuerzas alemanas aplastaron al ejército polaco en cuestión de 3 semanas y un año después a la fuerza expedicionaria británica y al ejército francés. La película transcurre durante toda la guerra y nos muestra la vida de un polaco judío viendo como se desintegra su familia y entorno poco a poco, en vista de la llamada solución final a la cuestión judía.
The Darkest Hour - Las horas más oscuras
In 1940 the Germans launch their offensive towards the West, the Blitzkrieg or lightning war is already a reality, the Germans quickly enter Belgium towards France, the allied armies fall to pieces. In May the allied armies cannot face the German army, the British do not trust their leader Neville Chamberlain, so the search for his replacement begins, Winston Churchill is elected prime minister, having to face criticism and defeatists from his side who only want to surrender, but Winston is not willing to give anything to the Germans. The film stars Gary Olman (Winston Churchill), who won an Oscar for his performance, and takes place in perhaps one of the most critical moments in the history of the British Empire and the humanity.
En 1940 los alemanes lazan su ofensiva hacia occidente, la Blitzkrieg o guerra relámpago ya es una realidad, los alemanes rápidamente se adentran por Bélgica hacia Francia, los ejércitos aliados se caen a pedazos. En mayo los ejércitos aliados no pueden hacer frente al ejército alemán, los británicos no confían en su líder Neville Chamberlain, por lo que comienza la búsqueda de su reemplazo, Winston Churchill es electo primer ministro, debiendo hacer frente a las criticas y a los derrotistas de su bando que solo buscan rendirse, pero Winston no está dispuesto a ceder nada a los alemanes. La película es protagonizada por Gary Olman (Winston Churchill) quien fue ganador del Oscar por su actuación, trascurre en quizás uno de los momentos más críticos de la historia del imperio británico y de la humanidad.
Dunkerque
When I found out about the production of this movie I was very moved, by then I knew about the Battle of Dunkirk. Located at the same time as the darkest hours, Dunkirk is a story of an English soldier trapped on the beaches of Dunkirk in France, the Blitzkrieg of the Nazi army ended with the allied armies whose troops are surrounded by the Germans on the beaches, while Winston Churchill plans his rescue, inexplicably the German army did not continue its march and in a certain way allowed the evacuation of the English troops, which may be one of the greatest military mistakes in history since it allowed the English to evacuate their army and go to war.
Without much dialogue and much action, the film directed by Christopher Nolan shows us the sensation of the English soldiers when they see the German planes in the air, the Royal Air Force could hardly stand up to the Luftwaffe or the German air force, without a doubt with much involvement with the darkest hours since they relate two different perspectives of the Dunkirk evacuation, on the one hand, the planning of operation dynamo and on the other its execution. Two films perhaps a bit antagonistic in their plot in the sense of having the dialogue on the one hand and the action on the other.
Situada en el mismo momento que las horas mas oscuras, Dunkerque es una historia de un soldado ingles atrapado en las playas de Dunkerque en Francia, la Blitzkrieg del ejército Nazi acabo con los ejércitos aliados cuyas tropas se encuentran rodeadas por los alemanes en las playas, mientras Winston Churchill planea su rescate, inexplicablemente el ejército alemán no continuo su marcha y en cierta forma permitió la evacuación de las tropas inglesas lo que puede ser uno de los mas grandes errores militares de la historia ya que permitió a los ingleses evacuar a su ejército y seguir en la guerra.Sin mucho dialogo y mucha acción, la película dirigida por Christopher Nolan nos muestra la sensación de los soldados ingleses al ver los aviones alemanes en el aire, la Real Fuerza Aérea apenas podía hacerle frente a la Luftwaffe o fuerza aérea alemana, sin dudas con mucha implicación con las horas mas oscuras ya que relatan dos perspectivas distintas de la evacuación de Dunkerque, por un lado, la planificación de la operación dinamo y por otro la ejecución de la misma. Dos películas quizás un poco antagónicas en su trama en el sentido de tener el dialogo por un lado y por otro lado la acción.
Jojo Rabbit
Undoubtedly a very entertaining and funny film, a satire towards Nazism, set in a small town in Germany at the end of the war, tells the story of Jojo Rabbit, a boy belonging to the Hitler Youth, with an imaginary friend who is himself. Hitler who advises the little Nazi boy. At a time when no one could contradict a single word of the Führer, the little boy's mother turns out to be from the German resistance and hides a Jewish girl in her basement for a long time, and when the little Nazi discovers her, everything begins to unravel. twist.
Sin dudas una película muy entretenida y divertida, una sátira hacia el nazismo, ambientada en un pueblito de Alemania a finales de la guerra, cuenta una la historia de Jojo Rabbit un niño perteneciente a las juventudes Hitlerianas, con un amigo imaginario que es el propio Hitler quien aconseja al pequeño niño nazi. En un momento en donde nadie podía contradecir ni una sola palabra del Führer, la madre del pequeño resulta de ser de la resistencia alemana y oculta a una niña judía en su sótano durante mucho tiempo, y cuando el pequeño nazi la descubre todo se comienza a torcer.
