Hi dear community of movie lovers, now I want to share my opinion about a tv show that at first sight is not what it seems.
Another tv show that fascinated me is FOLLOWERS a Japanese production. I have had a fascination for Japan since my childhood when I used to watch My Little Samurai, a Cartoon from I don't know what year, many actually.
I can't consider myself a fan of manga or anime, but there is one or another production that I love. There are movies that have transcended their borders and have left us with deep experiences like Akira Kurosawa's Dreams. Even so, I had not seen a Japanese tv show.

Otra serie que me fascino es FOLLOWERS una producción japonesa. Tengo fascinación por Japón desde mi infancia cuando veía Mi pequeño Samurai, un Cartoon de no se qué año, muchos en realidad.
No me puedo consideran una fanática del manga o anime, pero si hay una que otra producción que me encanta. Hay películas que han transcendido sus fronteras y que nos han dejado profundas vivencias como Los Sueños de Akira Kurosawa. Aún así no había visto una serie japonesa al uso.

At first, I thought it was addressing the not-so-positive influence of social media, but in the first episode, it feels a bit of a je ne sais quoi between the characters.
Everything is set in modern Tokyo, a 2020 Tokyo where some young artists are looking for their place in the world, as well as those who are already established in this scene and who in their current state are looking for something more, than something they left for later when they were making themselves known.
In this tv show, there are no yakuza, no confrontations between gangs, no samurai fighting each other, and no characters taken from anime or manga.
There are women vibrant with energy, dreams, pain, fears, mistakes, and rectifications; and there are men who accompany them as friends, lovers, and sons. A series that vibrates also because of its color, is set in the current era shows us that modern Japan is avant-garde.

Hay mujeres vibrantes de energía, sueños, dolor, miedos, errores y rectificaciones; y hay hombres que les acompañan como amigos, amantes e hijos. Una serie que vibra también por su color, al estar ambientada en la era actual nos muestra ese Japón moderno de vanguardia.
I always check the names of the episodes, because it is at the end of each one when you understand the reason for it, and each of the 9 episodes has in their name their reason for being.
Episode 1 is titled HASHTAG and it was that label that changed the life of Natsume, a girl in her 21's, a film lover who wants to be an actress without much success so far; who goes from one extra role to another and from one job to another to make ends meet.
Who would have thought that a famous photographer would notice the cherry blossom post that Natsume posted on Instagram and where she expressed her deepest thought, as she was already debating her future as an actress, in other words, her dream.
Limi on the other hand is a successful photographer who made a name for herself and who is a strong contender to be recognized as Woman of the Year thanks to her impressive career.
Natsume is not alone, she has two friends who are also in their twenties and between the three of them, they support each other to move forward, being Sunny a very talented painter with a strong desire to make her first exhibition.
Here we can't leave behind Hiraku a former child painter and Youtuber that Natsume meets by chance giving another perspective to the character.
Limi has his great friend Yuruko who acts as his secretary and confidant in these crucial moments of his life, also part of his inner circle Akane an agent who works in a famous agency of artists and musicians; and Eriko an independent businesswoman.
And it is just at this stage that Limi lives when his great love Tamio reappears in his life to rethink his dreams yet to be fulfilled.
The tv show focuses on the experiences they go through when Natsume and Limi's paths cross on Instagram.

El episodio 1 se titula HASHTAG y fue esa etiqueta la que le cambio la vida a Natsume, una chica en sus 21, amante del cine que desea ser actriz sin mucho éxito hasta ahora; que pasa de un papel de extra a otro y de un trabajo a otro para llegar a fin de mes.
Quien iba a pensar que una fotógrafa famosa se fijaría en la publicación del cerezo en flor que Natsume posteo en Instagram y donde expreso su pensamiento más profundo, pues ya se debatía su futuro como actriz, en otras palabras su sueño.
Limi por su parte es una exitosa fotógrafa que se hizo de un nombre y quien es una fuerte aspirante a ser reconocida como La mujer del año gracias a su impresionante carrera.
Natsume no esta sola, tiene dos amigos también veinteañeros y entre los tres se apoyan para seguir adelante siendo Sunny una pintora con mucho talento y con un fuerte deseo por hacer su primera exposición.
Aqui no se puede quedar atrás Hiraku un exactor infantil y youtuber que Natsume conoce por casualidas dándole otra perspectiva al personaje.
Limi cuenta con su gran amigo Yuruko quien ejerce de secretario confidente en estos momentos cruciales de su vida, también forman parte de su circulo íntimo Akane una agente que trabaja en una famosa agencia de artistas y músicos; y a Eriko una mujer empresaria independiente.
Y es justo en esta etapa que vive Limi cuando reaparce en su vida su gran amor Tamio para replantear sus sueños aún por cumplir.
La serie se centra en las experiencias que viven cuando los caminos de Natsume y Limi se cruzan en Instagram.
Cast
Elaiza Ikeda is Natsume a Japanese actress, singer, and model, born in the Philippines to a Japanese father and a Filipino-Spanish mother, hence the name; by the way if you have seen Philippine movies you can appreciate the Spanish influence in the proper names.
A young girl with quite a lot of appearances in dramas and movies. In 2020 she debuted as director, only 24 years old. Surely we will continue to see her in the seventh art sometimes in front and sometimes behind the camera.

I don't know about you but I love the sound of Japanese names, I had already told you at the beginning that my fascination for Japan comes from a very young age when I came in contact with TV. As the years went by I discovered more aspects of that country and lately, it has been their productions in movies and TV. Una chica joven con bastantes participaciones en dramas y películas. En 2020 debuto como directora, con solo 24 años. Seguramente seguiremos viendola en el séptimo arte unas veces delante y otras detrás de cámara.
Todo el reparto esta conformado por actores que amplia trayectoria, inclusive si aún no llegan a la treintena.
La apasionada Limi es interpretada por Miki Nakatani, su papel en esta serie es excelente, no conozco su filmografía pero definitivamente viendo su perfil no queda otra que ver producciones donde ha participado. Es una cantante de trayectoria y actriz también con bastante recorrido.
Eriko es un personaje que desborda pasión por la vida y es interpretado por Mari Natsuki, una artista que desde 1.971 hasta la fecha (2022) viene desarrollando su impresionante carrera como cantante, bailarina y actriz.
Yuka Itaya da vida a Akane, me encanto su intepretación porque al igual que el resto de personajes, deja una importante lección. Viendo el curriculum de todos estos actores y actrices, entiendo la gran calidad de esta serie.
Por último el músico y actor Nobuaki Kaneko interpreta a Yuruco quien completa el circulo íntimo de LIMI. Su actuación es tan convincente que te pone a dudar, su amistad es tan sincera y leal que nos hace desear un amigo asi.
Esta hermosa producción estuvo dirigida por Mika Ninagawa una fotógrafa y directora japonesa, revisando su sitio oficial se puede apreciar su sello personal en todas su producciones tanto en cine como en fotografía, en conclusión una Artista.
Followers es más que una serie que muestra la influencia de las redes sociales en nuestra vida actual, es para mi un hermosos ejemplo de sororidad y de no dejar a un lado nuestros sueños aún cuando ya hallamos hecho otras eleciones de vida.
No sé a ustedes pero me encanta como se escuchan los nombres japoneses, ya les había comentado al principio que mi fascinación por Japón viene desde muy pequeña cuando entro en contacto con la tv. A medida que pasaron los años fuí descubriendo más aspectos de ese país y últimamente han sido sus producciones en cine y tv. Hay una serie que les recomiendo chicas, "los peces dorados", después me cuentan.
