Hello Internet people, is everything okay? Today I want to talk about one of the few teen dystopian movies that are good since most of them are pretty bad (yes, Maze Runner I look at you) and don't get me wrong, Maze Runner is an excellent literary saga, the books are extremely good but its adaptations to the big screen are a complete disaster. I haven't read the Hunger Games books, so I can't make a comparison, but one thing I'm sure of is that the movie series alone doesn't disappoint. Without further ado, let's get started.

Hoy quiero hablarles de una de las pocas películas distópicas adolescentes que son buenas ya que la mayoría son bastante malas (sí, Maze Runner te miro a ti) y no me malentiendan, Maze Runner es una saga literaria excelente, los libros son extremadamente buenos pero sus adaptaciones a la pantalla grande son un completo desastre. No he leído los libros de Los Juegos del Hambre, así que no puedo hacer una comparación, pero de lo que sí estoy segura es que por sí sola, la saga de películas no decepciona. Sin más, empecemos.
The main thing that personally attracted me to the film is the story, and that is that although this adolescent dystopia ended up becoming a cliché, when the first book in the saga came out, it was not, that is, it was one of the pioneers in putting the genre on the table. which makes it quite original, so obviously the film carries that originality and the entire sociopolitical issue that the story deals with is not only interesting but is a reflection of what we live in the world today. The rich not only want to be richer but also to maintain their position, and that is why they devise a system that dulls the senses of the less fortunate to make them part of the system without their realizing it, but it is something that we will go into more later.
Lo primordial que en lo personal me atrajo de la película es la historia, y es que si bien esta distopía adolescente terminó haciéndose cliché, cuando salió el primer libro de la saga no lo era, es decir fue uno de los pioneros en poner el género en la mesa, lo que lo hace bastante original, así que obviamente la película arrastra esa originalidad, y todo el tema sociopolítico que trata la historia es no solamente interesante sino que es un reflejo de lo que vivimos hoy en día en el mundo. Los ricos no solo quieren ser más ricos, sino también conservar su posición y es por eso que idean un sistema que adormece los sentidos de los menos afortunados para hacerlos parte del sistema sin que se den cuenta, pero es algo de lo que profundizaremos más adelante.
In this dystopian world this type of country is divided by 12 districts and the Capitol which is the capital and where the richest people live, after this the districts go from 1 to 12 and as the number of the district increases, so does the amount of poverty, with the last district being the poorest. Each district focuses on a specific job and is technically dedicated to providing resources to the capitol, for example, district 12 works in mining and that is where our protagonist belongs.
En este mundo distópico, este tipo de país está dividido por 12 distritos y el Capitolio, que es la capital y donde viven las personas más ricas, después de esto, los distritos van del 1 al 12 y a medida que aumenta el número del distrito, también lo hace la cantidad de pobreza, siendo así el último distrito el más pobre. After a rebellion occurred many years ago, after winning the contest, the Capitol decided to create the Hunger Games as punishment, a kind of survival test where 2 (chosen) tributes from each district must fight until only one remains. No chosen tribute can back down or not accept. This is how they are manipulated into maintaining the system that allows those in the Capitol to be in power and live off the most unfortunate, exploiting their resources and manpower.
Y es que el dirigente del capitolio, como dije anteriormente, hace de estas personas parte del sistema. La cosa funciona así: Al ofrecerles unos beneficios a los que bajo ninguna otra circunstancia llegarían, y ver ejemplificados estos beneficios en los vencedores de los juegos, las personas empiezan a idealizarlos, los ven como algo normal (algo así como se veía en su época el circo romano), las personas elegidas no se ven como piezas de un enorme reloj, sino como personas especiales ya que eligen a los "mejores" para los juegos y empiezan a imaginarse como los vencedores, con una gran mansión en la que pueden vivir con su familia, además de ingresos de por vida sin tener que trabajar más, es algo que sobre todo seduce a los habitantes de los distritos más pobres. Es así como son manipulados para que mantengan al sistema que permite a los del Capitolio estar en el poder y vivir de los más desafortunados, explotando sus recursos y mano de obra.
But what happens when the pawn or slave notices that it is precisely that? What happens when you no longer want to be? you rebels, but this can only be done when each one of the pawns becomes aware because in unity is strength, if one rebels he is punished, but if a thousand do so then there will be more chances of winning, and that is precisely what presents us with the saga, and this film is the first step, showing us a protagonist fed up with being a pawn and willing to change things.
Pero ¿Qué pasa cuando el peón o el esclavo nota que es precisamente eso? ¿Qué pasa cuando ya no quiere serlo? Se rebela, pero esto solo puede hacerse cuando cada uno de los peones toma conciencia porque en la unión esta la fuerza, si uno se rebela es castigado, pero si mil lo hacen entonces habrá más posibilidades de obtener una victoria, y es precisamente lo que nos presenta la saga, y esta película es el primer paso, mostrándonos a una protagonista harta de ser peón y dispuesta a cambiar las cosas.
The film's cinematography is quite good, it has interesting shots such as the subjective ones or that shaky shoulder-mounted camera that gives us a feeling of discomfort. They also do a very good job with the sound, there are scenes where Katniss is in a daze and the sound is muffled to help the viewer feel the daze. The performances were also very good, although to tell the truth they weren't great (except for Jennifer Lawrence) who I think did a wonderful job, especially when it came to drama scenes.
La fotografía de la película es bastante buena, tiene planos interesantes como los subjetivos o esa cámara al hombro temblorosa que nos da una sensación de incomodidad. También hacen muy buen trabajo con el sonido, hay escenas en las que Katniss se siente aturdida y el sonido se oye amortiguado para ayudar al espectador a sentir el aturdimiento. Las actuaciones también fueron muy buenas, aunque a decir verdad no fueron excelentes (a excepción de Jennifer Lawrence) quien a mi parecer hizo un trabajo maravilloso, sobre todo cuando se trataba de escenas de drama.
The staging is spectacular. I like each of the scenarios and how we are surprised to learn that the arena of the games is really that and not a real terrain, thanks to the technology of the Capitol.
La puesta en escena es espectacular. Me gusta cada uno de los escenarios y como nos sorprendemos al saber que la arena de los juegos es realmente eso y no un terrero real, gracias a la tecnología del Capitolio.
The truth is that it is a saga that I quite like, whether or not it is a good adaptation of the book, it understands itself, it is fun, it has a good dynamism (it never becomes boring or frantic), yes, it is true that They present two tributes per district and we barely know Peeta, we know almost nothing about his life before or during the games, except for some loose things that they show us, we don't even see what he did in his score test before starting the games, no we know almost nothing and it is practically an ornament and one more resource for our protagonist (speaking of the plot of the film and not within the story as such) the same thing happened to me with Cato, we see him at the beginning as the main antagonist but we only see a little about him, at first we see him smug (deceived and manipulated) believing himself to be the favorite of the Capitol because as a professional they give him more resources than the rest, but in the end we know that he understood that he is one of the bunch of pawns of the Capitol, that the games are nothing more than a butcher shop for the entertainment of the Capitol millionaires (something like the squid game or the Roman circus I already mentioned) but how did Cato come to this conclusion? What happened between one thought and the other being so different? We don't know, the film doesn't show us and it's an aspect that I don't like.
La verdad es que es una saga que me gusta bastante, siendo o no una buena adaptación del libro, se entiende por sí sola, es divertida, tiene un buen dinamismo (nunca se torna aburrida ni tampoco frenética), si que es cierto que nos presentan dos tributos por distrito y a Peeta casi ni lo conocemos, no sabemos casi nada de su vida antes ni durante los juegos, salvo algunas cosas sueltas que nos muestran, ni siquiera vemos que hizo en su prueba de puntuación antes de empezar los juegos, no sabemos casi nada y prácticamente es un adorno y un recurso más para nuestra protagonista (hablando del argumento de la película y no dentro de la historia como tal) lo mismo me pasó con Cato, lo vemos al inicio como el mayor antagonista pero solo vemos un poco de él, al inicio lo vemos ufano (engañado y manipulado) creyéndose el favorito del Capitolio porque como profesional le dan más recursos que al resto, pero al final sabemos que entendió que es uno más del montón de los peones del Capitolio, que los juegos no son más que una carnicería para el entretenimiento de los millonarios del Capitolio (algo así como el juego del calamar o el circo romano que ya mencioné) ¿pero como llegó Cato a esta conclusión? ¿Qué pasó entre un pensamiento y el otro siendo tan distintos? No lo sabemos, el film no nos lo muestra y es un aspecto que no me gusta.
But overall it's a pretty good movie that I'm clearly going to recommend. I would give it an 8 out of 10, without a doubt you will not waste time seeing it
Pero en líneas generales es una película bastante buena que claramente voy a recomendar. Le daría un 8 de 10, sin dudas no perderán el tiempo al verla

La forma en que yo llegue a esta película fue algo de la vida diaria, estaba pasando canales y estaba casi iniciando, me llamo mucho la atención y ya me quede atrapado, luego pase por un lugar que vendían libros y fue 😱, me compre los 3, y puedo decirte que la primera película es como un 90% fiel al libro, ese 10% no es nada resaltante, de la segunda, pues... hay como un 50% del libro y es un arroz con mango la película (jajajajaja, si saca de onda, más cuando leíste primero el libro), la tercera, son 2 peliculas y son fiel al libro.
Hablando de los juegos del hambre, realmente es genial como todo fue dando un giro, esa idea loca donde tenían que "hacer" un sacrificio por distrito, ufff, tiene un 10/10, y todo lo que paso, luego por esa primera rebelión en la arena, no hay duda de que suzanne collins, es una gran escritora.

Justo me estoy leyendo la saga completa en este momento. Ya voy por Sinsajo, que es el último libro/película de la serie. Siento que en la película no muestran detalles importantes de su relación con Gale, uno no termina de entender en la película lo que Katniss llega a sentir por él, ni muestran a personas que le dan un sentido distinto a la historia. Sin embargo, es bastante entretenida, y te mantiene en un suspenso que hace que la quieras ver toda.

Hola amiga, esta es una gran saga increíble y la he visto varias veces, donde lograron armar una trama increíble y sobre todo como reclutan a cada distrito y a partir de allí crear algo muy bueno. La presencia de esos dos actores, lograron darle un gran toque, puesto que es esa relación amor y odio, durante toda la película. Además las escenas son muy buenas y realizaron un gran trabajo, para así darle inicio a esta gran saga de los juegos del hambre. Tiene que continuar viendo las demás y ver esa gran trama que uno a todo las películas. Maze runner es lo máximo, tengo algo de tiempo que no la veo jajaj. Gracias por compartirlo con nosotros.
