In the following publication I will not talk about whether I thought the movie was good or bad or if the story has a good development, since this opportunity I want to express my thoughts about a real event that impacted the lives of many people and that to this day we still hear stories of that horrible moment.
🇪🇸 LA VERDAD NUNCA SERÁ ETERNA, PERO EL ENGAÑO ES INMORTAL, EN UN MUNDO DONDE NO EXISTE CIELO NI INFIERNO.
En la siguiente publicación no hablaré si me pareció buena o mala la película o si la historia tiene un buen desarrollo, ya que esta oportunidad quiero expresar mi pensamiento sobre un hecho real que impactó la vida de muchas personas y que hasta el día de hoy se siguen escuchando historias de ese horrible momento.
A few months ago I had the opportunity to talk about a documentary that I could see on Netflix called Crime Scene, The Vanishing at the Cecil Hotel that caught my attention because of the terrible facts that were seen in that famous hotel and how it caught the attention of millions of people in the world, as well as a movie based on real events which is called Ted Bundy sleeping with the killer, two cases so real and disturbing that will make your blood run cold after watching them.
Of which I was able to talk and share my thoughts from my perspective and everything I could investigate afterwards to have clearer information and to be able to understand every inch of what they tell us both in the film and in the documentary. In this opportunity I came across the case of a murderer named Christian Longo of whom I knew nothing until I finished watching the film that left me with a sad heart and with that rare feeling of knowing that in this world we live next to people with souls so black that the night is afraid of them.
We will know a little about the story of Christian Longo, but from the perspective, look, emotions of a former journalist of the New York Times called Michael Finkel, who will take us by the hand through this dark story.
🇪🇸 Hace unos meses tuve la oportunidad de hablar sobre un documental que pude ver en Netflix llamado Crime Scene, The Vanishing at the Cecil Hotel que llamó mucho mi atención por los hechos terribles que se vieron en ese famoso hotel y cómo llamo la atención de millones de personas en el mundo, al igual que una película basada en hechos reales la cual lleva por nombre Ted bundy durmiendo con el asesino, dos casos tan reales y perturbadores que te pondrán la sangre fría después de verlas.
De las cuales pude hablar y compartir mi pensamiento desde mi perspectiva y todo lo que pude investigar después para tener una información más clara y poder entender cada centímetro de lo que nos cuentan tanto en la película como en el documental. En esta oportunidad me topé con el caso de un asesino llamado Christian Longo del cual no sabía nada hasta terminar de ver la película que me dejo con el corazón triste y con ese raro sentimiento de saber que en este mundo vivimos al lado de personas con el alma tan negra que la noche le teme.
Conoceremos un poco sobre la historia de Christian Longo, pero desde la perspectiva, mirada, emociones de un ex periodista del New York Times llamado Michael Finkel, quien nos llevara de la mano por esta oscura historia.

WHAT'S THE MOVIE ABOUT?

It all starts with Michael Finkel played by (Jonah Hill), who is a journalist for the New York Times who is doing investigative work on slavery in Africa, but makes the mistake of changing the story a bit and is discovered, resulting in his dismissal and leaving his reputation at the bottom of the journalistic world.
Michael Finkel must take another path, but he stumbles upon the news that his name has been used by another person named Christian Longo played by (James Franco), who is accused of the murder of his three children and his wife. This whole situation surprises him and makes him investigate more about this man who usurped his identity and as a journalist he needs to know the reasons that motivated this man to use his name.

Todo inicia con Michael Finkel interpretado por (Jonah Hill), quien es un periodista del New York Times quien se encuentra realizando un trabajo investigativo sobre la esclavitud en áfrica, pero comete el error de cambiar un poco la historia y es descubierto, teniendo como consecuencia que lo despidan y dejen su reputación en lo más bajo del mundo periodístico.
Michael Finkel debe tomar otro camino, pero se topa con la noticia de que su nombre ha sido utilizado por otra persona llamada Christian Longo interpretado por (James Franco), quien es acusado del asesinato de sus tres hijos y su esposa. Toda esta situación lo sorprende y lo hace investigar más sobre este hombre que usurpó su identidad y como periodista necesita saber las razones que motivaron a este hombre a utilizar su nombre.

He decides to go to the prison where he is being held and asks to talk to this man and to know the reasons he had to use his name and to know what happened with the death of his family, which intrigues him too much and he wants to know the story from the mouth of Christian Longo. They begin to have a small relationship where they exchange very similar thoughts and ideas, this way they get to know each other a little more and they can build an idea of how each other's personality is, where they play that little game of cat and mouse.
Michael Finkel has some time talking to Longo and somehow believes that this man is innocent of what he is accused of or maybe he is covering up for someone else to save him from a brutal end, all this begins to distract the journalist who moves everything around him to focus on what is really happening and begins to write with the help of Longo a book, where he tells a little about the long conversations they had and the idea that he is not facing a murderer, but a normal person who was in the wrong place at the wrong time.
The relationship between these two men is taking more shape and trust is growing and is where things begin to take shape and we see how the lies begin to come to light and everything he thought **Finkel ** from the beginning is a big lie and is left in the middle of a situation where he does not know if he has done the right thing or was just used with other intentions.
🇪🇸 Toma la decisión de ir a la cárcel donde lo tienen detenido y pide hablar con este hombre y conocer las razones que tuvo para usar su nombre y conocer lo que sucedido con la muerte de su familia, lo cual lo intriga demasiado y quiere conocer la historia de boca de Christian Longo. Comienzan a tener una pequeña relación donde intercambian pensamientos e ideas muy parecidas, de esta forma se conocen un poco más y pueden ir construyendo una idea de cómo es la personalidad de cada uno, donde juegan ese pequeño juego del gato y el ratón.
Michael Finkel tiene un tiempo hablando con Longo y de alguna manera cree que este hombre es inocente de lo que se le acusa o que quizás está encubriendo otra persona para salvarla de un final brutal, todo esto comienza a distraer al periodista que mueve todo a su alrededor para enfocarse en lo que realmente está sucediendo y comienza a escribir con la ayuda de Longo un libro, donde cuenta un poco sobre las largas conversaciones que tuvieron y la idea de que no está frente a un asesino, sino ante una persona normal que estuvo en el lugar y momento equivocado.
La relación entre estos dos hombres va tomando más forma y la confianza va creciendo y es donde las cosas comienzan a tomar forma y vemos como las mentiras comienzan a salir a la luz y todo lo que pensó Finkel desde un principio es una gran mentira y queda en medio de una situación donde no sabe si ha hecho lo correcto o solo fue usado con otras intenciones.

I could tell you more about the movie as such, but it would be touching key points where I would have to talk with spoilers and I would really like you to watch it with as little information as possible and without knowing any details about Longo, since that would ruin the whole movie, taking into account that everything is told from the perspective of the journalist and that is key in this movie that is based on real events and strongly impacts the viewer.

A DIFFICULT STORY TO DIGEST
When I write or talk about movies or documentaries based on real events I try to be as sincere as possible and walk with great care and respect, since this kind of situations we are talking or giving an opinion about situations or moments that changed people's lives in ways never thought of before and should be touched with great care.
After watching the movie and knowing a little more about the Longo family, I was left cold and with a horrible feeling before a situation that seems to be taken from a Stephen King story and I asked myself the question, if the human being is just a disguise that hides an animal that is just waiting for the moment to show itself as it really is.
🇪🇸 Podría hablarte más sobre la película como tal, pero sería tocar puntos clave donde sí o sí tendría que hablar con spoilers y la verdad me gustaría que la fueras a ver con la menor cantidad de información posible y sin conocer ningún detalle sobre Longo, ya que eso te arruinaría toda la película, tomando en cuenta que todo es contado desde la perspectiva del periodista y eso es clave en esta película que se basa en hechos reales e impacta fuertemente al espectador.

UNA HISTORIA DIFÍCIL DE DIGERIR
Cuando escribo o hablo sobre películas o documentales basados en hechos reales intento ser lo más sincero posible y camino con mucho cuidado y respecto, ya que este tipo de situaciones estamos hablando o dando una opinión sobre situaciones o momentos que cambiaron la vida de personas de maneras nunca antes pensadas y se debe tocar con mucho cuidado.
Después de ver la película y conocer un poco más sobre la familia Longo, me dejo frío y con un sentimiento horrible ante una situación que parece sacada de un cuento de Stephen King y me hice la pregunta, de que si el ser humano es solo un disfraz que esconde un animal que solo espera el momento de mostrarse tal como es en realidad.

I try to see things from a calmer and more serene point of view, trying to analyze these behaviors as if I were an expert in the field, but the reality is that I am a child in front of a cruel world and it scares me to think that this happens in so many parts of the world and it has become a nightmare for some families to live not similar situations, but heartbreaking ones caused by the hand of man.
If you watch this movie, maybe the performances and the context will not disturb you and make your blood run cold, but if you watch the Longo family's case with a magnifying glass and then investigate a little more you will see things that seem impossible to believe and maybe you will see everything from a more occurring point of view.
COLD AND DISTURBING
Trying to get to know the mind or feelings of Christian Longo is nearly impossible, it's like putting on his shoes and having them be too big for you, cold and night would have been the perfect first and last name for this man.
The human mind is a place that many try to navigate, but is often a dangerous place for those who see beyond the logical and radically change a lifestyle for a moment that will mark a before and after in everything you know, looking for more information on Longo, I came across thoughts so raw that at the time of writing this article I find it hard to focus on the ideas I want to express and I just let myself be carried away by that strange feeling that leaves you know the existence or what was in the life of a person who appears to be normal, friendly and gets along well with the community and realize that behind that mask is a dark person.
🇪🇸 Intento ver las cosas desde un punto de vista más tranquilo y sereno, intentando analizar esos comportamientos como si fuera un experto en el campo, pero la realidad es que soy un niño ante un mundo cruel y me da miedo pensar que esto ocurre en tantas partes del mundo y se ha vuelto una pesadilla para algunas familias vivir no situaciones parecidas, pero si desgarradoras provocadas por la mano del hombre.
Si ves esta película, quizás las actuaciones y el contexto no te perturben y ponga fría tu sangre, pero si ves el caso de la familia Longo con una lupa y luego investigas un poco más podrás ver cosas que parecen imposibles de creer y quizás veas todo desde un punto de vista más ocurro.
FRÍO Y PERTURBADOR
Intentar conocer la mente o sentimientos de Christian Longo es casi imposible, es como ponerse sus zapatos y que te queden muy grandes, el frío y la noche hubiera sido el nombre y apellido perfecto para este hombre.
La mente humana es un lugar que muchos intentan navegar, pero que suele ser un lugar peligroso para aquellos que ven más allá de lo lógico y cambian radicalmente un estilo de vida por un momento que marcará un antes y un después en todo lo que conoce, buscando más información sobre Longo, me topé con pensamientos tan crudos que al momento de escribir este artículo me cuesta enfocarme en las ideas que deseo expresar y solo me dejo llevar por esa sensación tan extraña que te deja conocer la existencia o lo que fue de la vida de una persona que aparenta ser normal, amable y que se lleva bien con la comunidad y darte cuenta de que detrás de esa máscara se encuentra una persona oscura.

Cold and Disturbing were my thoughts after seeing the movie and surely you who are reading this review will have that same thought after you see this movie that will undoubtedly move many feelings.
BOTH SIDES OF THE COIN
It is important to understand that the film revolves around a terrible moment, but seen from the perspective of a man who dominated by his ambition and having in his hands the opportunity to show something shocking did not realize that he was under the control or manipulation of a man who knew how to analyze and use it to create a fantasy of which he was almost unwittingly part of.
In the world there are countless people with very similar thoughts that from time to time run into each other and create a connection so to speak that can be positive or negative, but in the end it is necessary for both to move forward and understand each other a little more on a personal level.

🇪🇸 Frío y Perturbador fueron mis pensamientos después de ver la película y de seguro tú que estás leyendo esta reseña tengas ese mismo pensamiento después que veas esta película que sin duda alguna te moverá muchos sentimientos.
LAS DOS CARAS DE LA MONEDA
Es importante entender que la película gira alrededor de un momento terrible, pero visto desde la perspectiva de un hombre que dominado por su ambición y de tener en sus manos la oportunidad de mostrar algo impactante no se dio cuenta de que estaba bajo el control o manipulación de un hombre que lo supo analizar y utilizar para crear una fantasía de la cual él sin querer casi fue parte.
En el mundo existen infinidad de personas con pensamientos muy parecidos que de vez en cuando se topan y crean una conexión por así llamarlo que puede ser positiva o negativa, pero que al final es necesaria para que ambos puedan avanzar y entenderse un poco más a nivel personal.
Es como verte al espejo o girar una moneda que tiene dos caras, pero están en un mismo lugar, momento o destino y eso de cierta manera los convierte en uno solo, quizás me voy más allá, pero este tipo de películas sirven para ir más allá de lo que podemos entender y siempre puedes tratar de saber un poco más, aunque creas que no es necesario, pero como amante de las historias reales y como hombre emocional, me intriga saber más sobre lo que veo y en esta oportunidad las ganas de conocer esa parte de la historia que no se cuenta en la película me di bases para comprender el final y todo lo que lo rodea.

LET'S TALK A LITTLE BIT ABOUT JAMES FRANCO AND JONAH HILL'S PERFORMANCE.
When I saw on the poster the face of these two actors, I had my doubts, since most of their movies are of the comedy genre which are very good and funny from my point of view, but I remembered that these two actors have participated in two movies where they have changed their characters and are more serious and with interesting performances and for that reason I decided to give this movie a chance.
The performances are not the most important thing, since it is difficult to measure the quality of the impersonation, since we are talking about something that happened in real life and we should first meet the people who play to have a basis from which to start to say if the performances were good or not.
What makes me make the decision to take as a base the emotions that this actors can transmit me at the moment of interpreting the characters and that way I know how much it can impact on me or any other viewer, maybe this is not important, but believe me in this kind of movies is very important, otherwise you will be watching a movie with two comedy actors trying to be serious and focused.
- James Franco (Christian Longo), his performance was not the greatest thing at any time I could not feel hate or empathy for this character and that caused me confusion, as I could not give the necessary importance to the key character of the story and it is because of this lack of emotions that can be seen in his interpretation.
🇪🇸 HABLEMOS UN POCO SOBRE LA ACTUACIÓN DE JAMES FRANCO Y JONAH HILL
Cuando vi en el póster el rostro de esto dos actores, tenía mis dudas, ya que la mayoría de sus películas son del género de comedia las cuales son muy buenas y divertidas desde mi punto de vista, pero recordé que estos dos actores han participado en dos películas donde han cambiado de personaje y se muestran más serios y con actuaciones interesantes y por esa razón decidí darle una oportunidad a esta película.
Las actuaciones no es lo más importante, ya que es difícil poder medir la calidad de la personificación, ya que estamos hablando de algo que ocurrió en la vida real y deberíamos antes conocer a las personas que interpretan para tener una base desde donde partir para decir si las actuaciones fueron buenas o no.
Lo que me hace tomar la decisión de tomar de base las emociones que me pueden transmitir esto actores al momento de interpretar los personajes y de esa forma saber que tanto puede impactar en mí o cualquier otro espectador, quizás esto no sea de importancia, pero créeme en este tipo de películas es muy importante, de lo contrario estarás viendo una película con dos actores de comedia intentando ser serios y centrados.
- James Franco (Christian Longo), su actuación la verdad no fue la gran cosa en ningún momento pude sentir odio o empatía por este personaje y eso me causaba confusión, ya que no podía darle la importancia necesaria al personaje clave de la historia y es por esa falta de emociones que se puede ver en su interpretación.
After watching the movie I watched some videos, photos and stories about Christian Longo and noticed that nothing of his personality was shown in (James Franco's) performance which was already evident and I would have liked to have seen more of Longo's real personality. Which would have given another feel to the plot and perhaps made more of an impact on me regarding the character, as the story alone is brutal.
- Jonah Hill (Michael Finkel), although his interpretation did not need much interpretative work, you can connect more with his performance and in some moments have empathy or feel that he showed that ambitious or unsentimental side of the journalist that if you take a moment to investigate and know who we are talking about and you will see that some characteristics of the real character are reflected and well interpreted by Jonah Hill, of course it is nothing out of this world, but it convinces you much more.
Knowing how to transmit those emotions will always be an extra point for any movie and you can rely on the performance of (Zac Efron) in the movie Ted Bundy: Sleeping with the Killer, where he gives us a great performance and you can see the change of personalities or emotions of the actor playing this man who knew how to deceive and manipulate many women.
DO I RECOMMEND IT?
I recommend it 100%, it is a story worth knowing and knowing that this world is inhabited by such brutal people that you would not like to meet at any time of your life. You can enjoy a cold and emotional story, although don't expect much from the performances, as I said, they are not that great.
But take a look at it and then stop by and let me know what you thought, remember that every head is a world and we can have totally different points of view.
FINAL THOUGHT
The world we live in is changing and everything seems normal to us and this kind of things in this time seem not to happen, but in the 60s and 90s were the daily bread of a society that lived surrounded by people who did not have the slightest fear for God and who went under the table in places where they were shown as people carts and example of a society that little by little I saw the true face of these men and women who only have in mind one thing, to transmit fear and darkness in society and their families.
The human mind is impossible to understand and much less this type of situations that make no sense and is where we ask ourselves, do heaven and hell exist? And if so, we are facing an endless battle.
We will never know, it is up to us to go the right way and fight against the darkness that covers the world more and more every day.

🇪🇸 Después de ver la película vi algunos videos, fotos y relatos sobre Christian Longo y noté que no se mostró nada de su personalidad en la interpretación de (James Franco) lo cual ya era evidente y me hubiera gustado que se hubiera visto más de la personalidad real de Longo. Lo cual le hubiera dado otra sensación a la trama y quizás impactado más en mí con respecto al personaje, ya que la historia por sí sola es brutal.
- Jonah Hill (Michael Finkel), aunque su interpretación no necesitaba de mucho trabajo interpretativo, puede conectar más con su actuación y en algunos momentos tener empatía o sentir que mostraba ese lado ambicioso o poco sentimental del periodista que si te tomas un momento para investigar y conocer de quien estamos hablando y verás que algunas características del personaje real están reflejadas y bien interpretadas por Jonah Hill, claro no es nada de otro mundo, pero te convence mucho más.
Saber transmitir esa emociones siempre serán un punto extra para cualquier película y eso se lo pueden confiar en la actuación de (Zac Efron) en la película ** Ted Bundy: Durmiendo con el asesino**, donde nos presenta una gran actuación y puedes ver el cambio de personalidades o emociones del actor interpretando este hombre que supo engañar y manipular muchas mujeres.
¿LA RECOMIENDO?
La recomiendo al 100%, es una historia que merece la pena conocer y saber que este mundo tiene de habitante personas tan brutales que no te gustaría toparse en ningún momento de tu vida. Puedes disfrutar de una historia fría y emocional, aunque no esperes mucho de las actuaciones ya como te dije no son del otro mundo.
Pero échale un vistazo y luego pasas por aquí y me cuentas qué te pareció, recuerda que cada cabeza es un mundo y podemos tener puntos de vista totalmente distintos.
PENSAMIENTO FINAL
El mundo en el que vivimos está cambiando ya todo nos parece normal y este tipo de cosas en esta época parecen que no ocurren, pero en los años 60 y 90 eran el pan de cada día de una sociedad que vivía rodeada de personas que no tenían el menor temor por Dios y que pasaban por debajo de la mesa en lugares donde se mostraban como personas carretas y ejemplo de una sociedad que poco a poco vi la verdadera cara de estos hombres y mujeres que solo tienen en mente una cosa, transmitir el miedo y la oscuridad en la sociedad y sus familias.
La mente humana es imposible de entender y mucho menos este tipo de situaciones que no tienen sentido y es donde nos preguntamos, ¿el cielo y el infierno existen? Y si es así estamos ante una batalla sin fin.
No lo sabremos solo queda de nosotros ir por el camino correcto y luchar contra esa oscuridad que cubre al mundo cada día más.

STOPYo soy amante de historias reales perturbadoras. Documentales, reportajes, películas, libros , sobre crímenes reales, asesinos en serie me atraen mucho. Por eso también soy seguidor del genero del horror. encuentro fascinante en todo esto.
Cualquiera pensaría que soy un asesino serial en potencia, pero, no, mi fascinante es intentar encontrar una explicación, un por que el ser humano es capaz de cometer estos actos atroces. ¿Todos tenemos un monstruo escondido? El año pasado estaba leyendo un libro sobre la mentalidad de los psicópatas y su aplicación en los negocios, con ejemplos que ponían en practica las teorías explicadas. Me gusta estudiar el lado mas perturbador de nuestra especia. Por eso la mayoría de relatos que escribo no tienen finales felices. Mientras unos ven la vida color de rosa, yo la veo oscura, muy oscura.
Te entiendo, ya que veo las cosas desde esa perspectiva, todo ocurre por alguna razón y edte mundo no es blanco ni negro, tiene un tono gris que en ocasiones puede enamorar o perturbar a las personas.
Este tipo de películas me generan un sin fin de preguntas a las cuales les busco sentido y en ocasiones pierdo el Horizonte, pero entiendo que nada es perfecto y que el cielo y el infierno se encuentran aquí en la tierra.
