A couple of days back, after reading a movie review by @jcrodriguez on The Gypsy Bride where he talked about
A young woman dressed as a bride is found dead with marks and symbols that look like a ritual. It could be a case of homicide like many others in the troubled city of Madrid, the problem is that the victim's sister was killed in the same way seven years ago.

I became interested instantly and a part of me just wanted to find out how this series would play out since it happens to be a psychological thriller, which I love. So when I finally got a break from work during the weekend, I decided to give it a shot. Opened my Netflix app, hoping to find the movie after putting the word gypsy in the search bar. Instead, I got another movie with the Title GYPSY.
At that point, I knew it wasn't what I was looking for but at the same time I was like just try it out, it can't be that bad, at least it has the word gypsy in it. So I began to watch.
Gypsy is an American drama series focused on the life of an American psychologist played by Naomi Watts, with the character name Jean Holloway. She happens to be a well-educated individual with an amazing job as a therapist, a Ph.D. in psychology, a successive lawyer for a husband, and a beautiful daughter as a blessing of a simple American marriage.
But yet there is still this empty void within her. It could be a result of the distance that is gradually creeping into her marriage with her husband all because of the busy nature of their jobs or it could be a result of her daughter trying to express her sexuality which is affecting their relationship and the child's academic performance at school. One could hardly tell. But one thing that is certain is Jean Holloway begins to distract herself with her involvement in the lives of her patients. What was meant to be just a simple therapy session is slowly becoming a means to an end for Jean to get a better understanding of what life looks like for the other person her clients talk a lot about.
One which has completely eloped the mind of Jean Holloway is the life of Sidney Pierce, the ex-girlfriend of her client Sam Duffy.
Sam constantly struggles with accepting the harsh reality that his ex has left him and this time left him for good. He still holds on to a twisted thought that maybe and just maybe one day she will finally come back to him. This thought is what drives him into therapy with Jean, his therapist. The more and more Sam talks about Sidney in his therapy sessions with Jean, the more she gets intrigued by wanting to know who Sidney is and how she lives her life. I'm quite certain that this thought is what drives me into creating a cross path with Sidney by frequently getting coffee at the coffee shop where Sidney works and sparking up little conversations. Jean even chooses not to stop there, so she goes on with using a pseudonym name and a fake career job as a writer in order to get more involved with Sidney while distracting herself from her personal problems.
Although I am yet to complete the series, I am currently at a point where things are really getting interesting and intense as Jean is getting more information about Sidney from her client Sam during their therapy sessions, making it even more emotional for her to admit that she beginning to fall for Sidney's manipulative charms.
La Novia Gitana is currently only available on Atresmedia's Spanish platform. The season is over, they will probably sell the rights to distribute it to another platform. For example, they sold the rights to a miniseries called Veneno to HBOmax.
This miniseries you mention I haven't seen it, I passed it up when it premiered. I get a lot of negative reviews and haven't paid attention to it. anytime I give it a chance since it's on netflix.
How great is Veneno, I got a notification about it. Is it a great watch?
Veneno is the story of a Spanish transsexual who became an icon in Spain in the 90's. The miniseries was very successful in Spain. The miniseries was very successful in Spain, it is a great story.
