Hello to everyone in the Movies & TV Shows community! Today I bring a special article dedicated to Venezuelan cinema, so I have chosen some of the best movies through time, according to my criteria and the opinion of some important figures of the medium. So, let's start with it.
¡Hola a todos en la comunidad de Movies & TV Shows! El día de hoy traigo un artículo especial dedicado al cine venezolano, por ello he elegido algunas de las mejores películas a través del tiempo, segun mí criterio y la opinión de algunas figuras importantes del medio. Así que, comencemos con ello.
La Distancia Más Larga (The Longest Distance): released in 2014, of the drama genre, directed and written by Claudia Pinto, tells the story of Martina, Lucas and Kayemó, who for life's sake will share a journey together with a different destination. Marina has cancer and wants to visit Roraima for the last time, Lucas wants to meet his grandmother and runs away from home to see her and on the way he meets Kayemó, a young man who wants to escape from his problems. A film that is not only a visual pleasure for the beautiful landscapes of Venezuela and the contrast of the city of Caracas, but also for its valuable emotional discourse.
La Distancia Más Larga: estrenada en el año 2014, del género drama, dirigido y escrito por Claudia Pinto, nos narra la historia de Martina, Lucas y Kayemó, quiénes por cuestiones de la vida compartirán juntos un viaje con diferente destino. Marina tiene cáncer y quiere visitar por última vez el Roraima, Lucas quiere conocer a su abuela y se escapa de casa para verla y en el camino conoce a Kayemó, un joven que quiere escapar de sus problemas. Una película que no solo es un placer visual por los preciosos paisajes de Venezuela y el contraste de la ciudad de Caracas, sino también por su valioso discurso emotivo.
Reverón: from 2011, also of the drama genre and directed by Diego Rísquez, tells the story of the plastic artist Armando Reverón. Set in Venezuela between 1924 and 1954, in the iconic Castillete, which was the artist's home and art studio, we get to know a Reverón who, after traveling around Europe and positioning himself as the best in his discipline, decides to settle in Venezuela and live his life with Juanita, his wife and muse. Also, observe how the typhoid fever he suffered at the age of 12 will affect his lucidity but not his love for art. An important recommendation if you want to learn about Venezuelan art, with incredible performances and well-executed photographs.
Reverón: del año 2011, también del género de drama y dirigida por Diego Rísquez, nos narra la historia del artista plástico Armando Reverón. Ubicada en la Venezuela de 1924 y 1954, en el icónico Castillete qué fue hogar y taller de arte del artista, podremos conocer a un Reverón que luego de viajar por Europa y posicionarse como los mejores en su disciplina, decide instalarse en Venezuela y vivir su vida junto a Juanita, su esposa y musa. Así cómo también, observar cómo la fiebre tifoidea que padeció a sus 12 años, irá trastocando su lucidez pero no su amor por el arte. Una recomendación importante sí deseas conocer sobre el arte venezolano, con actuaciones increíbles y fotografías bien logradas.
La Familia: from 2017, of the drama genre, written and directed by Gustavo Rondón Córdova, set in a modern Venezuela, it narrates the life of Andrés and Pedro, father and son, who live from day to day how they can to survive in the city of Caracas. Andres is a bricklayer and also works as a "tiger killer" (getting extra jobs) to supply the needs of his household but fears that by leaving his son alone for so long, he will start to keep bad company and make bad decisions. In a sober way, without scandals or unnecessary morbid scenes, Pedro and Andrés reflect the story of many Venezuelans who, for various reasons, lack a decent quality of life. Somewhat underrated, La Familia is an excellent recommendation to watch.
La Familia: del año 2017, del género drama, escrita y dirigida por Gustavo Rondón Córdova, ubicada en una Venezuela moderna, nos narra la vida de Andrés y Pedro, padre e hijo, quienes viven del día a día cómo pueden para sobrevivir en la ciudad de Caracas. Andrés es albañil y también se dedica a "matar tigres" (conseguir trabajos extra) para suplir las necesidades de su hogar pero teme que al dejar a su hijo por tanto tiempo solo, este comience a tener malas compañías y tomar malas decisiones. De una forma sobria, sin escándalos o escenas morbosas innecesarias, Pedro y Andrés reflejan la historia de muchos venezolanos que por razones varias, carecen de una calidad de vida digna. Algo infravalorada, La Familia es una excelente recomendación para ver.
Finally my friends, I cannot leave without saying that Venezuelan cinema is one of those disciplines that deserves more recognition than it has. Soon I plan to do a second part on Venezuelan films. En lo personal los filmes venezolanos que he visto no me han gustado debido a que son exageradamente dramáticos al punto de llegar a ser absurdos, te señalo a ti "Papita, mani y tostón" 😒 pese a ello le daré una oportunidad a estas recomendaciones, sobre todo a la última. Saludos por aquí cariño. Sí, hay ciertas películas que manchan lo bonito del cine venezolano, por ejemplo, "Azotes de Barrio" y otras dedicadas a la vida antisociales. Pero en general hay muy buenas. "Papita, Maní, Tostón" me encantó, la verdad es que le tenía recelo pero en cuanto la ví me pareció muy graciosa. Un fuerte abrazo, gracias por pasar por aquí y tu apoyo.

He visto muy pocos films venezolanos, pero de algo que estoy seguro es el hecho del contexto de algunos. Hay uno muy bueno que me gusta y le encanta a mi abuela Papita, maní, tostón. A mi abuela le encanta, creo que el cine venezolano posee mucho potencial: mucho arte en nuestro país.
