RE: Stuck at home injured and bored, so it's movie-time! Please recommend!

It would be too hard for me to just give you 3 movies ranging from all time, so I'm just going to suggest 3 that are from more recent years.

Movies - Godzilla Minus One (Outside of being an amazing Godzilla movie, legit just one of the best films ever made), Talk To Me (One of the best supernatural horror movies from the past 20 years. If you like this, Bring Her Back is a solid follow up from the writers/directors), The Menu, a dark comedy with horror elements about private high end dining. (Bonus pick would be Weapons, which I absolutely loved. Reason it's a bonus is because it just got a VOD release, so might not be available in your area.)

Shows - From (Heads up, this is like a Lovecraftian version of the show Lost), Invincible (animated show, but hands down the best superhero themed media from the past 6 years and just a great show overall), True Detective season one (Bonus pick would be Alien Earth, but I'm also a huge Alien/Aliens fan and I definitely think I give this show a little bit of leeway because of my love of the world building they do. Solid 7.5/10 show so far for me.)

Sort:

Movies - Godzilla Minus One

this is the Japanese one that they filmed for something absurdly small like $10 million yeah? I think i seent it but I'm not certain enough of this to not re-download it anyway.

The Menu, noted, DL'ing

I hated From

I'll check out Alien Earth because I have really fond memories of the first and second films from the 80's

Yeah, the most recent Japanese one with the silly small budget that somehow looks as good as a movie with a 30-50 million budget.

Pretty fair on From, it's about as polarizing with audiences as Lost was where you either just hate it or love it I feel like.

It's definitely got its flaws and issues, but it's really fun/interesting and does a lot of world building for the actual universe of Alien. Also playing around with some existentialism stuff with most of the characters in the story being "hybrid" synthetics.
