This pandemic has been more than 1 year since the end of December was announced in Wuhan, China. The film about the pandemic has become a much sought after film theme during the Covid-19 outbreak. Even some situations are said to resemble the current situation. Movies about this plague have aired several years ago. The following is a list of films about pandemics that have become my watch list during this outbreak, and some of which I have watched several years ago. This is my short review about the pandemic movies.

The Flu is a film that originated in South Korea, released in 2013. Directed by Kim Sung-su and starring Jang Hyuk and Soo Ae. This film tells the story of an outbreak of the deadly H5N1 virus which is contagious and deadly. The virus first came from a group of illegal immigrants from Vietnam who were smuggled to work in South Korea via container trucks. The immigrants trapped in the truck contracted one of the immigrants who carried the virus and killed all the immigrants in the truck except for one person, when the container was opened he managed to escape from the dark agency. From there the virus began to spread and plunged South Korea into catastrophe. An airborne virus, quickly spreads from person to person, every hour thousands of people are infected with a deadly virus, which kills within 36 hours of infection. The entire suburb of Bundang is being quarantined by the government in a desperate attempt to stop the virus from spreading further. Because the deadly virus has isolated South Korea from all countries in the world.

The film stars Gwyneth Paltrow, Marion Cotillard, Bryan Cranston, Matt Damon, Laurence Fishburne, Jude Law, Kate Winslet, and Jennifer Ehle. Directed by Steven Soderbergh, released in the United States in 2011. Scott Z. Burns, the screenwriter of this film was inspired by various pandemics that occurred in the world such as the SARS epidemic in 2003 and the swine flu pandemic in 2009. Before starting to write this film script, he consulted with representatives from the World Health Organization as well as from several medical experts. Overall, this film tells the story of the spread of a dangerous virus and the efforts of medical researchers and health workers to identify diseases caused by the virus. They are also aggressively looking for a vaccine to stop the spread of the virus. Virus originating from pigs and bats or called MECV-1. When the virus spread, the City of Chicago decided to lockdown or self-quarantine. And just then, looting and violence began to occur. Similar to the story that happened today, right?

If you like all the characteristics of the role that Gong Yoo plays, this is one of his best films. The film is from South Korea, released in 2016 and directed by Yeon Sang-ho. In fact, this film has been named as the first South Korean film to win over 10 million viewers. Jung Yu-mi, who often plays with Gong Yoo, also played a role in this film as the partner of Ma Dong-seok. The story almost resembles that of "I am Legend" where a human infected with a virus turns into a zombie who is ready to bite and infect others. Train to Busan as the title implies tells of a train on its way to the city of Busan. On the train, there is a person who has contracted a deadly virus that originated from a gas leak at the Chemical Manufacturer. The virus also spreads inside the train. People who caught the virus turned into zombies and spread throughout South Korea. Several people left to fight for their lives on a fast electric train from Seoul to Busan. The film ends with the safety of Jung Yu-mi and a little girl, daughter of Gong Yoo, who walk to the evacuation site where the people who are still surviving the spread of the dangerous virus. The sequel was just released in 2020, namely Peninsula, 4 years after Train To Busan. Still telling about the deadly virus, but more in the action genre, the audience expected that the peninsula would tell about the discovery of a vaccine from the virus but all came out of these expectations. Overall, Peninsula is still fun to enjoy.

When I saw Contagion I was crazy seeing how similar it is to what is happening today with COVID 19.

I don't want to sound like a conspiracy theorist, but if you do the math, it doesn't matter.

Crazy!

It's feel the same with you. I think so it's like reality today. Thank you so much for stopping by

😎👍🎥🎞️

I saw outbreak when it came out. Hared to believe 25 years went by so fast.

Yeah 25 years ago... Time goes so fast like hours

I really liked your choice of films, I feel like talking about films that have been made while we are living through the pandemic, I don't think they are all good, but there are some.

Yeah maybe there also good movies about pandemic, but "contagion" I think is best plot story it's like what we look in reality today. Thank you so much for stopping by
