The oufit (2022). An extraordinary script with a high level production.

Hello to all my good friends movie lovers, today I want to share with you my impressions about the film The Outfit (2022) directed by Graham Moore, a production set in the decade of the 50's in the city of Chicago when the mafias were in daily war for the control of the city. In this hostile environment, an English tailor named Leonard, played by Mark Rylance, moves to Chicago after experiencing a tragedy that killed his wife and daughter in London.

In the city of Chicago Leonard sees a new opportunity to start from scratch and begins his journey as a renowned tailor with just a pair of scissors that are his most precious treasure. This man has a pretty young, skilled, smart and pretty secretary named Mable (Zoe Deuch) who charms us with her subtle interpretation of the girl with dreams, aspirations and a lot of desire to go out on her own and travel the world, until she finally lets us see her ambition and desire to change her life at all costs. These two characters move in a relationship of friendly complicity with a touch of parenthood that keeps us always in expectation.

Leonard is an intelligent man and that is clear from the beginning of the film with his precise, concise but also very well structured dialogues that make the viewer realize that he is not in front of a second-rate character but rather the main character of the plot, although it is only at the end when we understand everything. A film that is initially described as a detective game where the FBI and the mafia are the articulators of the action and a theatrical twist at key moments that make us not manage to take our eyes off the screen for a minute.

Leonard, an elegant, intelligent and well-mannered man, describes his profession as a tailor through the perfect art of fabric shaping and customer service. As the film progresses, you discover the psychological game in which the flashbacks of Leonard's mind and the plot itself bring us into the game of manipulation that allows the director of the film to make us understand that who you least expect or who you consider an inferior or unimportant being is the one who ends up giving you a great lesson.

I particularly recommend the film, taking into consideration that it is not for all audiences, those who appreciate good cinema can share a valuable production and those who were expecting an action movie based on the mafia are better off looking for another film. This one has its charm and it is found in the care of the script and the production of each of the scenes.
