When we think of war, we usually imagine honor, intense battles and a lot of death and devastation. But add to that something else, and that is that the vast majority of soldiers who go into battle never receive recognition for the risky things they do on the battlefield, where they see their comrades die while they do all kinds of maneuvers to give victory to a country that will never thank them, and yet where they can often be court-martialed. It's like when you are kids and you do a lot of things around the house, whether it's tidying up, buying things or preparing food, and even though you give it your all doing it the best way you get absolutely no recognition for it haha.
That's precisely what the very amazing Netflix movie called. "The Siege of Jadotville." A movie that, although I had seen it before, I recently wanted to remember it since Netflix suggestions were showing this one and I thought it was interesting to watch it again and learn that it had come out in 2016. The movie is very raw and you see how the life of a group of men who have never been to a war changes radically when they are attacked by rebels in a war that insists is theirs. Cuando pensamos en la guerra, normalmente imaginamos honor, batallas intensas y muchos muertos y devastación. Pero sumado a eso hay que añadir otra cosa, y es que la gran mayoría de soldados que van a la batalla nunca reciben reconocimiento por las cosas arriesgadas que hacen en el campo de batalla, donde ven morir a sus compañeros mientras hacen toda clase de maniobras para darle la victoria a un país que nunca lo agradecerá y, pero aun donde muchas veces pueden ser llevados a juicio en una corte marcial. Es como cuando eres niños y hacías muchas cosas en la casa, ya sea ordenando, comprando cosas o preparando comida, y aunque lo das todo haciéndolo de la mejor manera no te reconocen absolutamente nada de eso jaja.
Precisamente de eso es lo que trata la película tan asombrosa de Netflix llamada. "The Siege of Jadotville". Una película que, aunque ya la había visto antes, recientemente quise recordarla ya que las sugerencias de Netflix aparecían esta y me pareció interesante verla de nuevo y enterarme que había salido en el 2016. La película es muy cruda y se ve como la vida de un grupo de hombres que nunca han ido a una guerra cambia radicalmente cuando son atacados por rebeldes en una guerra que insiera es de ellos. Ahora, hablemos del punto importante que trata de mostrar la película, de como para los políticos, los soldados que arriesgan su vida son simples peones en un juego sucio. Saludos amigo, este tipo de películas me gusta verla y así poder ver todo ese sacrifico que le tienen que poner esos soldados para dar la cara y defender su país, poner en riesgo su vida y como bien lo dices al fina no son nada reconocidos y eso no debería ser así, pero bueno. Me llamo mucho la atención esta producción no se sabía de su existencia, así que la voy a buscar, como también esos líderes políticos que se la tiran de que se la saben todas, al final no sirve y terminan perdiendo todo.
