Maybe the title is a bit strong but it has nothing to do with something personal or some attitude or contempt towards actor Adam Sandler. El personaje de Charlie Fineman sufre de un fuerte Tratorno de Estres Postraumático, este padecimiento lo ha llevado al aislamiento total, solo se ocupa de pequeñas cosas que no alteren el rumbo de su vida, ha dejado de ver a sus suegros porque no quiere recordar nada de su familia fallecida, toca en una banda local y se entretiene con videojuegos, peliculas y redecorando la cocina cada mes. Charlie no encuentra sosiego en su propia historia Alan, su amigo de la universidad es quien representa su unica confianza, pero al aislarse de todos ha perdido la capacidad de relacionarse de una manera saludable con las personas, tanto que tambien le causa un daño a su amigo. Asiste a terapia pero nada parece funcionar.
Highlight of this film the development of both characters. The handling of the drama by Adam Sandler, showing us a character who is suffering a horrible fate and not showing any kind of emotion on his face other than a blank look. Handle comedy like an escape valve in desperate situations. And the best thing in my opinion is that it lets us see the suffering when a loved one is lost. What remains after us when that which motivated us disappears from one day to the next without any explanation and acceptance is imposed on us as the only way to continue.
Resalto de esta pelicula el desenvolvimiento de ambos personajes. El manejo del drama por parte de Adam Sandler, mostrarnos a un personaje que esta sufriendo un destino horrible y no mostrar ninguna clase de emocion en su rostro mas que una mirada perdida. Maneja la comedia como una válvula de escape en situaciones desesperantes. Y lo mejor a mi parecer es que nos deja ver el sufrimiento cuando se pierde a un ser querido. Lo que queda después de nosotros cuando eso que nos motivaba desaparece de un día para otro sin ninguna explicación y se nos impone la aceptación como único medio para continuar.
When I first heard about this movie and got to know some images, I instantly thought it would be a parody movie about the life of Tim Burton or Robert Smith seeing the sloppy and dark aesthetic of Adam Sandler. But when I was able to finish watching her I just couldn't talk about the impression and how great Adam Sandler can act, I immediately forgot the bad times he put me through in his previous comedies and gave him my vote of confidence again, because it made me laugh. and also because it has made me cry.
Cuando supe de esta película por primera vez y pude conocer algunas imágenes, al instante pensé que sería una película parodia sobre la vida de Tim Burton o Robert Smith al ver la estética descuidada y dark de Adam Sandler. Pero cuando pude terminar de verla simplemente no pude hablar de la impresión y de lo genial que puede actuar Adam Sandler, inmediatamente olvidé los malos ratos que me hizo pasar en sus anteriores comedias y le di mi voto de confianza de nuevo, porque me hizo reir y tambien porque me ha hecho llorar.
To finish I leave you with this recommendation, I know that many times Adam Sandler's humor has annoyed them and this movie redeems him as an actor, I have investigated and apparently this beautiful filming has been forgotten and very few know it, that's why it is my top recommendation. If you want to think for a moment and isolate yourself from everything, to think about the suffering of a human being by not having his loved ones by his side and by not finding a new direction in his life. Sometimes it is not death that diverts us from our dreams, but smaller problems that we cannot overcome to continue.
Para finalizar les dejo esta recomendación, se que muchos a veces les ha fastidiado el humor de Adam Sandler y esta película lo redime como actor, he investigado y al parecer esta hermosa filación ha quedado en el olvido y muy pocos la conocen, por eso es mi principal recomendación. Si quieres pensar por un momento y aislarte de todo, para pensar acerca de l sufrimiento de un ser humano al no tener a sus seres queridos a su lado y al no encontrar un rumbo nuevo en su vida. A veces no es la muerte quien nos desvía de nuestros sueños, sino problemas mas pequeños que no podemos superar para continuar.

I really love when Adam sandler is making huge great roles.
Things that never happens when he's directing the movie, here he's only becoming this annoying guy becoming kinder over the time and finally getting the cute girl. Just like you said.
When he tries to have real roles this is awesome ! I just saw Uncut Gems and that between both.
He's still a terrible person but here there is a real perspective and not only jokes ! If you did not see it, try to take a look at it ! Even if it's frustrating all along the movie. You'll understand
That's right and I think he does it on purpose. It is as if he said: "Well, there is something different for you but don't get used to it too much. I'll just give you a taste of what I can do if I put my mind to it"
