Hello all you movie lovers, I am new in this community.

The Pursuit of Happyness is one movie that influenced my life and taught me so much about life, I learned a great deal from seeing this movie.

It is centered on the life and journey of the man Chris Gardner, played by the actor Will Smith. It showed his struggles with homelessness as he tried to provide for his family, which at some point was reduced to just his son as his wife could no longer keep up with him and decided to leave the marriage, leaving behind their son.

This movie shows the outright determination of a man, not willing to throw in the towel, even when all odds are against him. I learned that with perseverance and determination, one could really reach their goals.

I got a little teary when watching this movie, especially during the scene where they were kicked out of the guest house they were staying at because he couldn't continue with the payment and had to go to the railway station. At some point, they told him he had to leave soon, but he couldn't, because he had nowhere to go, so he decided to play a game with his son and finally went into the men's room. The part that really got to me was when someone began knocking on the door to the men's room, and he had to close his son's ear so as to prevent him from waking.

Keep pushing even when everything seems to be working against you.

This is one thing I learned from this movie, you could see Chris striving to sell the bone density machine, even when he got a lot of negative responses, he still kept at it, showing up every day, always properly dressed to meet up with his prospective clients, this was one of the features that helped him later on the day of the interview when he couldn't meet up to get properly dressed, Mr. Bob could attest to the fact that he always wore a jacket and a tie every day.

Not settling for less, and striving to achieve excellent wherever you are found.

When Chris was able to secure the internship with Dean Witter, and got to discover that it wasn't a paid one, he didn't let that discourage him. I'm sure if I was the one in the kind of situation he was, without a roof under their head, and then getting an internship that would not pay me for the next 6months or so, I would have had second thoughts, but not Chris, he was able to see far, to look at how the internship would be beneficial for him in the long run, and it did pay off.

Most times, we as humans only consider the now, 'immediate gratification', if we aren't getting anything out of it now, then is it worth it, only those who see the future will actually feature in the future they have seen.

Upon starting the internship, Chris was really proactive, he set his goals and worked off his arse to meet them, he knew he didn't have the luxury of time the others had, so he put measures in place to actually work twice as fast as compared to the others because he still had to go pick his son from daycare and also sell his device.
But at the end of the day when he was retained within the organization, all of his efforts paid off greatly.

If you haven't seen the movie 'The Pursuit of Happyness', I urge you to do so, it's a bit old, but there are many morals to be learned from it.
Thanks for stopping by, love you ❤

Yeah I remember watching this movie, it was so emotional. Watching both father and son suffer was so heartbreaking

yes, I agree, it's a movie I've seen but wouldn't watch again because it hurts, it's heartbreaking and painful, but very deep and with great lessons;
thank you for your beautiful analysis.
