Hola amantes del cine en esta preciosa comunidad de hive, espero estén muy bien el día de hoy. Revisando entre mi lista de películas por ver di con esta película la cual me causaba muchísima intriga por su trama además de que me llamaba mucho la atención por los actores y actrices súper talentosos que salen en ella por ello decidí verla y me lleve una sorpresa increíble, fue grandiosa y en este post les hablaré sobre mi opinión de ella. Let's talk a little about the plot, the film introduces us to the life of Thérèse Raquin who after being orphaned is taken by her father to live with her aunt and her cousin who is sick, after spending almost all her life being repressed and ordered by her aunt to take care of her cousin the latter decides to join them in marriage and in turn move to Paris to start a business, When Thérèse arrives she realizes that her life is based on taking care of her now sick husband, taking care of her aunt and taking care of the business and tired and frustrated she decides to start a secret affair with an old family friend and it is here where her life begins to be consumed from love to hate.
The American film is a drama, romance and thriller genre and has an exquisite cast of actors and actresses who became known for their excellent performances in the world of cinema such as Elizabeth Olsen as our protagonist Thérèse Raquin, Tom Felton as Camille Raquin the cousin and then husband of Thérèse, Jessica Lange as Madame Raquin aunt of Thérèse and mother of Camille and finally Oscar Isaac playing Laurent LeClaire old friend of the Raquin family. These actors and actresses get into the skin of these enigmatic characters where they will search for their own happiness and explore different worlds such as desire and madness.
Hablemos un poco sobre la trama, la película nos introduce a la vida de Thérèse Raquin quien luego de quedar huérfana es llevada por su padre a vivir con su tía y su primo el cual está enfermo, luego de pasar casi toda su vida siendo reprimida y ordenada por su tía para que cuidara de su primo ésta última decide unirlos en matrimonio y a su vez mudarse a París para poder iniciar un negocio, al llegar Thérèse se da cuenta de que su vida se basa en cuidar a su ahora esposo enfermo, atender a su tía y cuidar del negocio y cansada y frustrada decide iniciar un romance en secreto con un viejo amigo de la familia y es aquí donde su vida se empieza a consumir del amor al odio.
La película estadounidense de género drama, romance y thriller y cuenta con un elenco exquisito de actores y actrices que volvieron conocidos por sus excelentes actuaciones en el mundo del cine como lo son Elizabeth Olsen como nuestra protagonista Thérèse Raquin, Tom Felton como Camille Raquin el primo y luego esposo de Thérèse, Jessica Lange como Madame Raquin tia de Thérèse y madre de Camille y por último Oscar Isaac interpretando a Laurent LeClaire viejo amigo de la familia Raquin. Estos actores y actrices se meten en la piel de estos enigmáticos personajes en donde buscarán la felicidad propia y exploraran mundos diferentes como el deseo y la locura.

One of my biggest weaknesses in movies are period films and even more if they are about romance, I could describe them as very intimate and emotional that make you look at the screen and let out a sigh for the love of the protagonists. This film falls into that category perfectly because the romance is shown in a very visual way without being explicit, with the right way to record the scenes and the friction between the characters immediately show the romance that exists between them, the desire and love, I ventured to see this film because it has a spectacular cast with the incredible Jessica Lange playing a powerful and possessive role without losing balance and very sure of herself, Elizabeth Olsen projects us a broken character with little emotion and shows us that change that happens in her when she starts to experiment for the first time in her life and the way she allows herself to show all those emotions and also to hide them makes her character even more important in the story (even though she is already the main character) and as for the performances of Oscar Isaac and Tom Felton they were also exceptional showing two different men but at the same time they have something in common and that is their love for Thérèse, having moments in which both look for a way for her to be happy despite all the circumstances that surround them, it is certainly a film with a lot of acting quality.
Una de mis mayores debilidades en las películas son las películas de época y más si son de romance, podría describirlas como muy íntimas y emotivas que te hacen mirar la pantalla y soltar un suspiro por el amor de los protagonistas. Está película entra en esa categoría perfectamente ya que el romance es mostrado de una forma muy visual sin rozar a lo explícito, con la forma correcta de grabar las escenas y los roces entre los personajes inmediatamente logran mostrar ese romance que existe entre ellos, el deseo y el amor, me aventure a ver ésta película ya que cuenta con un reparto espectacular con la increíble Jessica Lange haciendo un papel poderoso y posesivo sin perder el equilibrio y muy segura de si misma, Elizabeth Olsen nos proyecta un personaje roto y con poca emoción y nos muestra ese cambio que ocurre en ella al empezar a experimentar por primera vez en su vida y la forma en la que se permite mostrar todas esas emociones y también ocultarlas hace que su personaje sea aún más importante en la historia (a pesar de ya ser la protagonista) y en cuanto a las actuaciones de Oscar Isaac y Tom Felton fueron también excepcionales mostrando dos hombres diferentes pero que a su vez tienen algo en común y esto es su amor por Thérèse, teniendo momentos en los que ambos buscan la manera de que ella sea feliz a pesar de todas las circunstancias que los rodean, sin duda es una película con mucha calidad actoral.
It is one of those stories where the characters that are going to develop a romantic interest have apprehension between them, they are in constant disagreement and somehow fall in love and can't help it, this is something that made the affair between Thérèse and Laurent so strong and feel more real since she was always very indifferent at the beginning and even hated him but in a moment of tension she decided to start this forbidden romance, things began to get darker when she began to feel the need to escape and run away with her lover because she could no longer stand all the orders of her aunt and she could not tolerate her husband and this is where they both achieved their goal only they did not know that this event will haunt them until the end.
It is a twisted story that at first starts as a story of forbidden love and then shows how far two people who love each other will go to be together in spite of everything, I loved it completely and the story caught me completely making me have to process certain dialogues from minute to minute as I found the way in which the events were happening unbelievable.
Es una de esas historias en donde los personajes que van a desarrollar un interés romántico tienen aprehensión entre ellos, están en constante desacuerdo y de alguna manera cae enamorados y no pueden evitarlo, esto es algo que hizo que la aventura entre Thérèse y Laurent fuera tan fuerte y se sintiera más real ya que ella al inicio siempre se mostró muy indiferente y hasta lo aborrecía pero en un momento de tensión ella decidió comenzar ese romance prohibido, la cosa comenzó a oscurecerse cuando ella empezó a sentir la necesidad de escapar y huir con su amante ya que no podía aguantar más todas las órdenes de su tía y tampoco toleraba a su esposo y aquí es donde ambos lograron su cometido solo que no sabían que aquel acontecimiento los perseguirá hasta el final.
Es una historia retorcida que al principio empieza como una historia de amor prohibido y luego muestra hasta donde llegarían dos personas que se aman para estar juntos a pesar de todo, me encantó por completo y la historia me atrapó completamente haciendo que de minuto a minuto tuviera que procesar ciertos diálogos ya que me parecía increíble la forma en la que iban ocurriendo los eventos.
It is difficult to face both sides of the coin when analyzing a film of this style where infidelities, murders and emotional torture occur because you start to analyze the little that the film presented about the past of the characters and from there you start to build their personalities, the way they act, the words they use and even the way they move in society, We can see Thérèse who always kept herself busy taking care of her cousin and saying yes to everything her aunt ordered, making her take extreme decisions as an adult for the sake of experimenting, but she didn't see beyond that, she didn't see the consequences of her actions and how they damaged several people, including her husband. It is difficult to analyze since there is also romance and love in between, the way in which they seek to belong to something different, the search for freedom from the errands and decisions of others and on many occasions we could notice that the characters somehow sought to leave their own reality and wanted to take control of their own lives but unfortunately not everyone had a happy ending and I would have liked to have it but I think the film sought to reflect that romance in something more tragic and real.
Es difícil enfrentarse a los dos lados de la moneda a la hora de analizar una película de éste estilo en donde ocurren infidelidades, asesinatos y tortura emocional ya que empiezas a analizar lo poco que presentó la película sobre el pasado de los personajes y a partir de ahí comienzas a construir sus personalidades, la forma en la que actúan, las palabras que utilizan y hasta el modo en el que se mueven entre la sociedad, podemos ver a Thérèse quien siempre se mantuvo ocupada cuidado a su primo y diciendo que si a todo lo que su tía ordenará haciendo que de adulta tomara decisiones extremas por el hecho de experimentar solo que no veía más allá de eso, no veía las consecuencias que tenían sus acciones y como éstas dañaron a varias personas entre ellas su esposo. Es difícil analizarlo ya que también está el romance y el amor de por medio, la forma en la que buscan poder pertenecer a algo diferente, la búsqueda de la libertad de los mandados y de las decisiones de otros y en muchas ocasiones pudimos notar que los personajes de alguna forma buscaban salir de su propia realidad y quería tomar las riendas de sus propias vidas pero lamentablemente no todos tuvieron un final feliz y me hubiese gustado que lo tuviera pero creo que la película busco reflejar aquel romance en algo más trágico y real.

Se ve como una historia muy interesante considerando la época y el tema tratado. Aparte los actores son buenísimos, así que tendré que buscarla para verla.

La trama es súper atrapante y no se siente pesada en ningún momento, casi que no puedes despegar los ojos de ella por la forma en la que van escalando los eventos y si, los actores/actrices en ella hace que cada personaje tenga una química increíble en donde despliegan tantas emociones desde amor, odio hasta indiferencia y tristeza.

Me encantan las peliculas de época y esta no la tengo vista. Así que la agregaré a mi lista, se ve muy interesante y puedo ver qué cuenta con muy buenos actores, además de que mezcla varios géneros.

Creo que es primera vez que leo una reseña cinematográfica hecha por ti. Aunque no he visto el filme, me parece un texto bastante amplio y con criterios personales bien sustentados. Sin duda, una historia llamativa, y con una de las grandes actrices contemporáneas, Jessica Lange, una de mis favoritas.
Me permito sugerirte un uso más cuidado de los signos de puntuación. Las ideas quedarán más claras y articuladas. Por ejemplo: "Hablemos un poco sobre la trama.
