I'm planning to watch Bugonia with my partner. Poor Things was her first Yorgos film. I treated it as a test because she often complains that films are too predictable, that the script is too obvious, etc. She liked the film, so we'll probably watch Bugonia together. I was a little saddened that many reviewers (at least in my information bubble) said it was Yorgos's weakest film. But apparently, Jesse Plemons put on an Oscar-winning performance. And I really like this actor because of his talent and versatility. Even Martin Scorsese praised him in Killers of the Flowermoon.
I wish you a Merry Christmas... After the holidays, hehe :D. Happy New Year!
Thank you for stopping by.
Definitely not a weak film. I think they just expected more cinema. It is there, but its under a few layers that are initially superficial.
So I'll be happy to watch it. "Yorgos's slightly less successful film" is still a euphemism for "a good production worth checking out." Happy New Year!
