RE: Del Toro's 'Frankenstein' - Monstrously Netflix

in Movies & TV Shows4 months ago

I keep meaning to see this one (although I'm a bit suspicious of Del Torro's more recent works tbh). This review, though...maybe I'll put it on the back burner for a while. I would love to hear about the homophobia in Frankenstein though, that sounds infinitely more attractive to me than any movie (a rehash of a rehash of an old story - are we doing anything else?).

I did love Poor Things!

Honestly I'd love a rewrite where Elizabeth is the queer scientist ..maybe I'll write that myself haha.

Del Toro loves his monsters. I did feel he hasnt really done anything as novel as Pans Labyrinth. I mean watch it if you're at a loose end. Would love to hear your reflections. I obviously engaged with it enough to write a review. Sometimes the pleasure is in the critique afterwards.
